Wow - we were happy to get £30k between us. But it has adversely affected our credit ratings - we were both turned down for the Post Office card in June.

But what I don't understand is why I was accepted for the AA card earlier this month as it is also run by BoI just like the PO card. My husband was rejected by AA.
I went for the AA fee-free card recently and I got an instant (and I mean milliseconds!) rejection. Not unexpected though, but worth a shot I thought.

I applied for AA BT credit card recently and got a letter asking 4 types of documents e.g.
    ID verification
    Address Verification
    Bank Detail
    Employment detail

All copies need to be certified by Solicitor, Accountant, Bank or Doctor. A few people are on the same boat and thinking about whether to proceed and pay £8 for certification for each document or just cancel it. Here is the link

When you applied for AA BT credit card, did you get the same request ? How did you sort it out?
    Thanks

No, I didn't have to send anything at all in the post to them, not even a signed agreeement. I got the card within a few days.

I seem to remember that I have previously had an AA cc or perhaps it was a bank account many years ago so perhaps that is why.
  • Thanks all for the replies. I'll see what the definite limit is when it comes through and then apply for another card to cover the shortfall and hope it gets approved. It should only need to be for about £3k to cover that.

The halifax one stated that only 95% of the limit can be a balance transfer, is that std across all the cards?

Yes and I have also had 90% on one or two cards.
