Sales Of Goods Act Success X 2

We bought a tv bed from dreams just under two years ago and the tv stopped working. The warranty with the bed did not cover it. I complained to Dreams customer services to be told by one of their staff that the Sales of Goods Act does not cover TV's and it's not their policy to replace it. Using the template I sent the letter to their ceo and result... To replaced free of charge!
The sky wi-if box had also stopped working and when I called sky again I was fobbed off and sled to pay £65/£60/£30 for a replacement box. Yeah... No one knew the price for an engineer to brig the box out to me. Anyway again a stern letter to the ceo citing the template worked again and Sky have sent me a new box!
Just goes to show the sales of goods act and a little patience can work wonders!

SOGA does cover TV's. The Sky box is under warranty for the first 12m only, after that you pay for a call out, but invariably a call to CS saying that you can't afford it and want to leave will produce a free call out.
So really only one of your successes was down to SOGA. But a good result anyway. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Even then it was a "can't be bothered with this, make them go away with a 'goodwill gesture'" result. It wasn't anything to do with SOGA as such ... they could have made OP commission a report to prove the fault was present at the time of sale, but chose not too.
What "template" is this?0 -
Yes..... I'm having a bit SOGA trouble so would also be interested in a template letter to send to a CEO.0
