Board game.
Something like Trivial pursuit family edition (separate kids and adult questions) would be goodZebras rock0 -
I think it will be a bad idea although it is not a great deal if they receive one present between them it may either get thrown away or they may argue over it the younger ones anyway.
Why not just send sweets each if you have no idea what to buy ?0 -
I'd also suggest a board game or maybe a family DVD and some crisps, popcorn and sweets to have a movie night together.0
-
I'd send them a £5 each in a card, then you know they will all be happy. I didn't like joint presents, it was rarely something that any of us really wanted and although games are nice presents, it's hard to know what they already have.0

£25 of sweets?? Doesn't sound very MSE or healthy!
I know it's not very seasonal but what about outdoor games?
Some ideas to follow (may be like extra for the p&p sadly)

Interesting things from Amazon including table football (£19.99), giant Jenga (£19.45+)or classic games compendium by John Adams (£21.99) and some include free delivery, even better.

I would perhaps go either for small amounts on a gift card....or a bag of chocolate coins with a fiver attached to each...
or even cinema tickets vouchers...
you could perhaps buy vouchers for a chain resturant like nandos or pizza hut where they could probaly get a meal for around the £25 mark.
does the town or city where they live have anything like a christmas skating rink...that might be something they could all do together but might need pre booking,so if it were to be an option check whe its available, some do still run into january
very difficult when buying a joint present for such varying ages
you could perhaps look at doing a hamper collectively...and put in a few things that would be applicable to each of them...maybe a bottle of beer/alchopop for the oldest, down to chocolate lollies for the youngest
If there are any girls than maybe make up or body sprays..or something like toiletery gift sets...for each of them
If you really want a present that might span the ages rather than money how about christmas mugs and hot chocolate....if the eldest is too old for a christmas mug then what about maybe a starbucks mug or travel mug....if funds allow you could add marshmallows or biscuits to create a larger type of present for them all...maybe even adding christmas coffee for the older ones.
Lots of the supermarkets have some very good priced mugs that really are very good value.......tesco's have smaller ones too that might be good for younger children
Someone suggested naming a star as a present to me the other day....would that work if you collexctively named it as the "surname" children?
or adopting an animal...or was it a tangible gift you wanted to give rather than something that was charity based....(this could work well especially for teaching the youngest one about gift giving to others and I believe a lot of the charities give a small cuddly toy)
If it were ideas for particular gifts perhaps you could update your original post to give the age range of each child and whether they are B/G....an 18 year old male has a completely different mindset to a 9year old girl ...or indeed are you buying for a family of mixed age/gender or are they all boys for example....which could make it easy to buy something like table football ....
Personally I wouldnt go for a board game...its a nice idea that the family will all play it but the reality is probably not...frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend0 -
Definitely cash or giftcard each. Kids of all ages love extra money and there's nothing like having a bit of cash ready for the sales. They'll get much more value out of it after the event.“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0

I'd struggle to find a joint gift that covered ages 5 to 18 and suspect that whatever you choose wouldn't suit everybody. I don't even think DVDs would work across that age gap.
I'd second the idea of giving cash in a card if you think it will get there safely or give the parents the cash to distribute if you are seeing them before Christmas.0 -
Board game's actually a good idea. There's plenty that multiple ages can play, even if the younger ones have to team up with an older one until they get the hang on the game. Game of Life, Frustration, Pictionary (we've got one with two levels of cards to suit different ages) Telestrations is a fun one.0
