Credit Card - Miss selling?

  • Hi debtfree,

Whilst the bank person may have acted immorally unfortunately that going to be impossible for you to prove. Additionally as other posters have pointed out you actually decided to use the card and over a prolonged time too. With the exception of PDL there are virtually no cases of mis selling being upheld. Presumably because the regulator expects people to be responsible for thier own decisions. You are going to have to chalk this one up to experience and work out how to pay this off.

Head over to the DFW board for tips and advice, you will soon get on top of it.

    Interesting story.

At 18 years old I also walked in to a Natwest branch while only having a part time job while studying, and I also walked out with a credit card.

Because I was an adult and responsible for my actions, I then spent within my limits on it and paid it back in full every month.

I closed the card about 5 years later, and went onward and upwards to more beneficial cards.

There was nothing at all stopping you cancelling the card if you felt a bit untoward about the lie on the application. There was even less stopping you putting the card in a drawer and never using it.

Unfortunately, in this instance, you just need to take responsibility for your actions.
