High Interest Rate or Better Customer Service

Abbey doing high interest saving account staff these days to attract more customers.
I was one of them who had attracted 10% interest in Super monthly saver.
First, they have open the account but they didnt set up regular transfer to move money from current account to saving account.
Since 2 month has passed, I have lost the interest for 2 months.
I have phoned up the customer service by phone and they have considered to pay the interest into my account. (That's good.)
Then I was told by the customer adviser to come into the branch to re-open the account.
I did poped into the branch and close the initially opened account and open new one.
However, I have found out that they have closed newly opened account and left open inital one.
Now I have to go back to the branch, but costed me time and money.
I am thinking tp get further compensation as they have admitted that it was their mistake. But This is unbelievable.
Before Abbey, I was with NatWest with more than 10 years and I never had such a mistake even single time.
Now, I am thinking the trade off of better interest rate with better customer service was a good idea.......
(This could be a branch dependent......)

abbey have a dreadful reputation for the custmer service.
have you actually worked out how much extra interest you will earn (after tax if necessary) on the abbey regular saver versa say the yorkshire BS product... firstly you can save 500 per month with YBS if you want and it doesn't reset at the end of the year so you continue earning over 7% on the full amount of your savings at the year after the first year.0 -
Thanks for that! At a quick glance, the interest rate for YBS seems to be really competitive. I hope the customer service is as well. I will try and find out!0
