It's a matter for your wife's employer to investigate and resolve, not sure where accountants fit in or is she employed by a firm of accountants?0

That's the longest sentence I have ever seen that has no commas, no capital letters, no full stops,
It was very, very hard to read.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
My wife is empoyed by a care home, but its there accountants who deal with the payments. It is still not in today, dont know what santander has done with it ? must be in a holding account ? .0

If money goes through the BACS system and for some reason does not match up to an account then yes it may go to a holding account but in my experience it was returned to the actual paying account shortly after.
The onus here falls onto the employer and not the bank as they have a responsibility to pay wages due and if they are not credited to an account they have a duty of care to resolve the issue, She needs to take this up with her employer directly.0 -

I like how you probably thought about writing 'no punctuation', but corrected youself to be more factually correct when you re-read the post and spotted the random '/' in there :beer:0 -
it seems the reference number was not completed which seems strange as its all the same details for the last several years ! surely the details are not manually put in in this day and age every time ?. thankyou for your help and advice

In which case, they left it late and its not a surprise. It can take 3-5 days for the money to arrive after they submit it if it doesnt use the faster payments method.
Employers normally submit in advance of the date to ensure the correct payment date is used.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
