Santander Paying In Slips etc.

I need to pay the occasional cheque into my Santander 123 account, so ordered some paying in slips and envelopes. Envelopes only arrived today. Does anybody know if they usually send them separately, or do I need to nag them?

Thanks
Stompa

I don't know, but why do you need them? For mailing the cheques?

Yes, or depositing at a nearby Post Office, as per:

    http://www.santander.co.uk/uk/help-support/ways-to-bank/banking-at-your-post-office

Are paying in slips an absolute requirement, or can you perhaps deposit cheques at a Santander branch with just a debit card? (I couldn't find that info on their website).

Yes, you can. They also normally have ATMs inside and outside that take cash deposits. Outside ones used to dispense envelopes. An inside one that I used last time just took the cheque, scanned it, recognised the amount, asked for a confirmation an printed a receipt with the cheque image on it.

The slips & envelopes come separately, the book of paying in slips has to be printed. You've been lucky, last time I asked Santander for some envelopes to pay in at the post office they said they didn't offer this service!

Thanks, that's useful to know. I figured that might be the case, but it's probably been a couple of decades since I last deposited a cheque any way other than by post!

Great, it sounds like the simplest solution is to wait for the paying in slips then. Many thanks.

How did you order them? In branch?, online? or by phone?

Last time I asked, in branch, they said they don't use paying in books/slips.

Phone. There didn't appear to be a way of ordering online, though I suppose I could have sent a secure message - but then I'd probably have had to wait ages for a response!
