Composite Front Door - Single or Double Rebate?

Hi all,

I'm reading up on composite front doors and am wondering whether it's better to push the boat out for Double Rebate? Or if this is a fancy add-on you don't really need!

Will they have a major impact on heat retention? And how much more would they cost compared to single rebate?

Thanks for any advice in advance!

I am not sure what you are referring to by a double rebate detail, so you would need to enlighten folks on this.

My initial reaction is a door should seal properly, as has been the case for years. In reality doors are frequently not perfect and draughts and gaps can occur.

If you are after a decent composite door then you need to sift through and push aside the dross which exists - this is with manufacturers, suppliers, and installers.

    Hope this helps.
