Posting to Northern Ireland

I have set my ebay account not to post to Northern Ireland but I have someone wanting to buy an item and asking why as it is part of UK.

Can someone tell me if it is the same cost as rest of UK to post a small package? I had a look at the buyers address and it just said Down, UK

  • It's part of the UK so no difference in postage costs but an extra day on delivering.

Royal Mail and My Hermes do not charge extra but you might find some other couriers do.
  • Northern Ireland is part of the UK and if sending via Royal Mail it is classed as UK and does not cost any extra.

If sending via a courier some may not, for some reason, class Northern Ireland as part of the UK and may charge a bit more. You can check their site and/or do a quote to see how much it would cost.

Help! Have revised my account to allow Northern Ireland and it is still showing as I can't post there and buyer cant make a bid
Do I need to do something else?
  • Have you applied that to existing listings? If not, you need to.

If you have then it either hasn't updated itself yet or it has glitched.

All sorted now - Thanks everyone.
It wouldn't let me change the listing as it was nearing the end of the auction.
Had a word with buyer and relisted as BIN and sold it to the original buyer.
