It is still 24 hour coverage, all the papers and all the tv news channels. The sort of publicity that they love, it makes them feel invincible and makes ordinary people frightened to go about their business

And yet here you are discussing them on a public forum, giving them more publicity.0

I would argue it's not the terrorists themselves that are being given publicity it is the victims of the attack.
I don't see why the reporting should stop. It is only 3 days after the attacks and these people deserve more than to be replaced with the normal daytime TV programs.0 -
I can see what you mean Kittie, but it's still a developing story as they do the search to get all those involved.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.
Daniel Defoe: 1725.

I feel sorry for the victims although I do think that sometimes the media goes overboard in these sort of situations.. For example facebook and the 'change your profile pic to half the French Flag' to show solidarity.. There was no such thing after Mumbai, Madrid or Nairobi.. It just fosters a sense of feeling that some lives are more important than others.... Sure if you want to show support then change your profile pic but have a look at some of the backlash against those refusing to do it. What will happen if the airline incident turns out to be an act of terrorism? I doubt we'll see Facebook doing something for the Russian victims of the attack. Some of these social media sites would be better off seeing how they are used for such attacks and how they can monitor and prevent this happening...0

Technically your giving them the publicity by starting a thread about them.
Though I do think the Media coverage is a little over the top, as in I am not sure what else is happening in the world at the moment when I switch the news on.0 -
