Capital one credit card ppi

Hi everyone

I recently enquired with capital one to see if I had paid any ppi on my credit card account with them, I have had the credit card account with capital one for about 10 years or so, and the account is still current. They replied back saying I have never paid ppi on this account, and I could request a SAR , could I ask them for the original credit card application, to see if the ppi was added when I applied ?

Any advice much appreciated

Thanks

Well, you could, but that wouldn't tell you whether or not you'd paid PPI, so what would be the point? If you had paid PPI on the account, it would be evident from the statements. If you haven't kept the statements, a SAR would be the most cost effective way of getting that information.

PPI can be added when the card was applied for or after by the phone.

As Antrobus states, every credit card where you both had PPI AND paid it, would be shown on the monthly statement as an extra debit. If you had a card with PPI but paid off the balance in full every month you would pay no PPI

If the card is still in use then surely you can see whether you have PPI or not just by looking at the monthly statement.

As said above, the application wont tell you if you had PPI. Most card PPI is added post sale.

  • I was wondering if I had the account so long, that ppi could have been roamed or added during that time, the early years it was all paper statements, which I have no copies off,

I will go with what you say check my latest statement,

    Thanks for your advice

Unless you phoned up or wrote to them to remove it, it would still be there if you previously bought it. Not the sort of thing you forget. If its you not on your statement, you dont have it.
