How long does it take DD to show up on account?

Hi,
I'm just wondering how long it takes direct debits to show up on your account from when you set them up? Is it only from the first payment that it shows? I've set up 2 on a new account around 5 days ago, and nothings showing up. I haven't ever went and checked when my DD have appeared before, so I don't know how long my other ones took..
Thanks!

Anywhere from 2-3 days to the first time they're called.
In other words it depends on who the originator is and which bank.

Usually 2-3 days to show in your account however it takes longer for it to be marked as "Active" so that your provider can take money from it.
Perhaps your bank only shows the DD when first payment is taken? I think Natwest does this.0 -
My account is with Halifax, the DDs are with charities, they're not due out until 28th Nov and 1st Dec, so now I'm thinking they're not gonna show until after those dates..0

You could have problems with those dates if you need the DDs for the monthly reward payment as you'll only have 1 payment for November. You can also be caught out in February although 2016 is a leap year.
It's much better to have those DDs some in the middle of a calendar month.0 -

Don't be worrying it's only a basic account as someone has just pointed out lol I'm creating this account to switch to another.0
