Totally agree this should be fun and for me stupid bumping isn't fun.

I do wonder why people want to make posts that make them look dim or unable to read the answer posted half a dozen times but that is up to them As it is up to me to vent about it. Public forum and all that.

There are some rules to this particular forum which helps make it work for all. One of which is no unnecessary bumping of the competition posts. What constitutes unnecessary bumping has been the subject of many a long and often bitter threads. I would say if more than a couple of regular forum members post saying can we cut down on the bumping it has probably gone into the too many bumps area.

If somebody posts a useful post then use the thanks button that is what it is there for. that was they get the points they need to have Martin make them tea.

And if a couple (or more) 'regular'(not sure what you have to do to be a 'regular') members post disagreeing and saying they have been helped by some of the posts then it should be allowed as if it helps 1 person then it is a good thing. I agreed with you saying that winning 2.50 wasn't worthy of bumping but when people were bumping to say they had found the bird on certain pages and others were saying they had found it also after that user had said then to me that is a helpful bump of the post and not worthy of being complained about imo

I hate it when bumping involves....

    Wouldn't submit for me

    Nor me

    Not for me either

The form would submit for me? Anyone else?

Anyone know why the form won't submit?

No, but it wouldn't submit for me either!

Oh dear - wouldn't submit for me - am I the only one?

Why can't someone who manages to submit their entry bump to inform others that the problem may have been resolved!!!! Doh! There is such a thing as common sense?

When the Advents start I don't subscribe to any with email updates! A few years back I did and ended up losing half my body weight by the 5th December....

Though compers wishing to shed a few pounds before Christmas could think about subscribing for a few days?!

    Great dieting tip there.

I always love the answer being posted numerous times asking other people to confirm. Edinburgh Castle held the record one year.

I would also like to apologise in advance to all those who find me rude and sarcastic at times. I probably find you irritating and annoying so overall it balances out.

I think maybe you need to loosen off your comping tie and put down you MSE clip board and accept its a public forum where people do not want to be dictated to as to where they can and cannot comment.

As I posted before I for one was grateful to those that had took the time out of there day to post where they had found the treats I had genuinly not found one before I had read the thread and since then have found 8 so it can't be that random!

I think I might also be reavaluating a few things if I was getting that annoyed at a bumped thread and need to take my head out of the comping sand and have a look at actual proper problems and affairs that are going on the world today!!

Jeez to think I used to come in here for some fun....

Unfortunately in public forums you get those that think because they don't like something or think that something isn't right then everyone else shouldn't like it and should think it isn't right, it's a kind of i'm right and you should all do what I say attitude. Maybe some of what they say is right but try telling them you think some of it is wrong and they resort to sarcasm or feeble attempts at wit to belittle you and ignore your point. I find the best thing to do is have your final say and let them carry on whingeing they will soon find something else to get aggrieved at.

This is a public forum and people have a right to express their opinions.

If you agree you tell them you agree and why, if you disagree you tell them why you disagree and if you have no opinion on the matter you move along to the next thread. We learn by asking questions and reading what others have to say.

It wouldn't be much of a public forum if folks didn't ask questions about bumping, Advents, How many wins do you have? How many competitions do you enter? ect

I do think the witch has been unfairly burnt at the stake on this thread, no wonder folks like myself go to PMs to ask questions as I did just last week.

I think the humour in here is very dry. I was told me a few weeks ago "they are just words on a page"

    Wise words those ;)

Isn't that was everyone is doing ?

Or is it a matter of if certain users want to ask questions or express their opinions then that's fine but if others want too or disagree (especially if it's someone I get on with) then they are 'burning witches at the stake'

The statement was made some have agreed and others haven't yet you seem to be implying that those who haven't agreed have done so in a way that has harmed the user making the statement.

Maybe it is best for folks who disagree with anything to also do so by PM as saying you disagree in this particular public forum seems to get you made out to be a bad person.

I'll bow out of this now before I get accused of anything else.
