Subscribing to threads and the nightmare that is bumping

So here is my dilemma; having tried various methods to remember to enter daily/weekly competitions with questions I now subscribe to those threads. When it works it's lovely. I get an email when the answer to a new question is posted or some other useful bit of information. So far so good.
Then there is the nightmare of the Topcashback and Quidco threads. I know I am a grumpy old grouch but I do not care you have won £2.50. Unless of course you were at the pointing of dying and the £2.50 saved your life; no actually I don't even care then I am that much of a grump.
If the answers have been posted there really is no need to post them again. Nor the fact you found the present on the clue page. It might be nice to know that a bird has been found on the nike page but not every time somebody finds one there.
We are getting close to Advent season and the board can become a mess of random bumping. Lets try to think of others before we post on the main competition board please.
I would also like to apologise in advance to all those who find me rude and sarcastic at times. I probably find you irritating and annoying so overall it balances out.

Happens everytime Topcashback and Quidco run competitions
And with the Topcashback one running for a month - expect there to be around 1000 replies on the thread.... I know it gets a bit silly (by the way I won a £1 yippee) lol :rotfl:
The threads should be made to be like the Cinema Codes threads that states CODES ONLY, NO CHAT ..... and state ANSWERS ONLY, NO CHAT

1) Just bookmark the thread and visit it daily so it doesn't matter how often information is added
2) Ignore every e-mail after you have what you need.
3) Don't have the subscription set to e-mail you every time a post is added.0 -
And here we go again....All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

I agree that it might be annoying to hear of people winning £2.50 or whatever numerous times but people are just happy or just letting others know that is possible to win, maybe those who do this will see this and not do so again. What annoys me more than anything is people who bump the thread numerous times to complain about those bumping the thread for the things stated above and moaning they don't like the threads being bumped etc .... thus doing exactly what they are complaining about.0

Sometimes ones does find oneself doing exactly what one doesn't like ie bumping. It is usually when ones patience has run a bit thin.
I do miss a certain poster who for a while posted do not bump under everything she thought was an unnecessary bump.Rational judgement, now, at this very moment.

I think maybe you need to loosen off your comping tie and put down you MSE clip board and accept its a public forum where people do not want to be dictated to as to where they can and cannot comment.
As I posted before I for one was grateful to those that had took the time out of there day to post where they had found the treats I had genuinly not found one before I had read the thread and since then have found 8 so it can't be that random!
I think I might also be reavaluating a few things if I was getting that annoyed at a bumped thread and need to take my head out of the comping sand and have a look at actual proper problems and affairs that are going on the world today!!
Jeez to think I used to come in here for some fun....:mad:0 -
I dont subscribe to threads i just add the noteworthy ones to my favourites and come back when needed. What is annoying though is when the threads have jumped forward 2 pages since you last looked and its full of "i won a fish slice" or "i won xyz" and the useful info gets lost in between all of that nonsense. Winner announcements should be made in the relevant subsection ie. IWIWIW0

Totally agree this should be fun and for me stupid bumping isn't fun.
I do wonder why people want to make posts that make them look dim or unable to read the answer posted half a dozen times but that is up to them As it is up to me to vent about it. Public forum and all that.
There are some rules to this particular forum which helps make it work for all. One of which is no unnecessary bumping of the competition posts. What constitutes unnecessary bumping has been the subject of many a long and often bitter threads. I would say if more than a couple of regular forum members post saying can we cut down on the bumping it has probably gone into the too many bumps area.
If somebody posts a useful post then use the thanks button that is what it is there for. that was they get the points they need to have Martin make them tea.Rational judgement, now, at this very moment.
