    Morning all,

Wet and really blowy here too the wind has been howling all night and something has been banging against the house I will have to send OH out to investigate later on.

I have just stripped the bed and got it in the wm, It will have to go in the dryer today.

Roast beef for dinner later on with all the trimmings really looking forward to it we don't have it often.

TA I was quite successful with my internet shopping, I only have three main presents to get and stocking fillers for my dd I hope to get all main ones done today, then will have a trip to the shops next week for stocking fillers.

Hester I made limoncello last year its very tasty, this year I have done gooseberry vodka, ginger vodka (which smells lush) and a lime and lemon one, must bottle mine up soon.

Right better get on need to pop to Lidl for some tin foil and have a look for potential stocking fillers.

    Have good days all xx

  • Afternoon, (((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))) if you need one.

We did not suffer with the wind at all last night, we are in the vale of Belviour so it does tend to do over the top of us. We did however have rain, the floor of the coal houe is very wet and so is the coal.

We are out in the morning, so stripped the bed and did the Monday clean, have also prepped the supper, beef in the red wine marinade, veggies all done, just trying to sort out how I am going to do roasties and yorkies........the apple crumble will be cooked before the meat goes in. Using the combi, I take the meat out and leave it to rest whilst the roasters cook in 30 minutes. Might pre cook the yorkies, freeze some and then re-heat a couple for the last few minutes the spuds are in.

OH is doing a jig saw, he muttered that he was not feeling great, so I had to rush off and make the bed, after 5 minutes he came through to say it had gone off........I think its my turn to say I do not feel great and am going to lie down, give him some of his own medicine, he usually manages to do it just as a meal goes on the table.....drives me round the bend and back!!

Its a bit grey, but the wind is blowing am going to risk the bed linen on the whirly for an hour or so, will keep my eye on the weather so I can fetch it in of it starts to rain.

Right off to slice yesterdays loaf and get some lunch.

Having a quiet day with dd who popped over and stayed last night.
After a lot of thought I have decided to put in an offer on the chalet bungalow. It gives me the benefits of a bungalow and living on one level while having spare bedrooms upstairs for the family.

A large cottage pie is in the oven ready for tea time and there should be enough for middle DD to take a portion home and a meal for older DD and SIL as well. I made gammon and veg soup earlier but it somehow got a bit burnt :o I think I managed to rescue it in time but don't dare offer it to anyone else.

Just had a phone call to say DD and SIL are on their way.

    Hugs to all.

Hi everyone. I used to post a lot about 5 years ago then a full time job, which was very stressful indeed, and many devastating family changes meant that I stopped.

For anyone who remembers me I had a DH and 4 children at home in 2010 - my daughter, her boyfriend who we took in when his parents kicked him out and two sons of our own. The relationship between DD and her boyfriend broke up and he moved out leaving just my family of 5.

The most devastating thing to change was that my DH of 24 years was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer in September 2012 and sadly died in October 2012. The children were then 20, 18 and 14 and I was 46. We have got over the initial raw grief and are managing to live a happyish life once again now although there is still a big void in our lives.

My DD is now 23, lives away from home and is studying Psychology at uni, DS1 is now 21 and is studying Law at uni and DS2 is now 17, still lives at home with his Momma, and is doing his second year of A Levels. I was made redundant in February this year and don't yet have any inclination to rush and find another job. I'm taking some time out to re-group, live my new life and try to understand it all. Money is tight so I am back to my frugal money saving ways to help - although feeding two people is an awful lot easier than feeding 6 :rotfl:

I have sort of kept up with this board and all the lovely people that I know on it. I was devastated to hear about the death of Money Saving Diva and Pink they were both such lovely ladies.

Anyways enough of my waffling. I hope to get involved on OS again and look forward to getting to know everyone on the Daily Thread once more - if I'm allowed back on after such a long sabbatical :o
