Carpet fitting - moving furniture?

We're due to get a carpet fitted soon (ordered, should be available in the fortnight) and I have a question regarding moving all the furniture out of the room (lounge).
The room is 24' long and 13' wide at it's widest. We have a 2 seater and 3 seater sofa.
Generally would we be ok to clear the room of everything else apart from the sofas and get half the carpet laid and then move the sofas onto the laid part (if that makes sense)?
Moving the sofas is going to be quite an issue as they don't fit through the internal door.
Thoughts please on what is generally accepted.
I will run it past the fitter but can't contact them until Monday. Thanks.

That is what we did when we last had a lounge carpet fitted.0

It stops the fitters giving the carpet a good stretch as hard as they kick with their knee, they are not going to move two sofas sat on the carpet.I do Contracts, all day every day.0

With a room that size it shouldn't be a problem , put the 2 seater upside down ontop of the 3 seater it'll only take up about 4' of space in a 24' room that's not a big deal. Make the guys a coffee and a plate of choccy biscuits and you'll be fine.0
