Unable to delete subfolder I created

Somehow I created a subfolder I named 'emails to keep' in 'Trash' in Thunderbird IMAP. (I'm with Plusnet.) It was a mistake and I would like to delete it. A notice comes up: "The current operation on 'emails to keep' did not succeed. The mail server for account xxx 'my email address' @.plus.com responded 'mailbox does not exist or must be subscribed to.'
When I empty deleted emails in the trash folder everything is deleted apart from this subfolder. If anyone can suggest how I can delete this folder it will really be appreciated. If necessary how would I subscribe to it, please in order to delete it? I'm hoping it's nothing too complicated.
Thank you.

Don't use the same systems but are you able to move it out of your trash folder, then delete it?0

Shift and Delete?0

I'm afraid it won't let me move or delete it. I have tried all the usual ways but with no success so far. Thank you for replying.

Presuming Win7 etc.
Browse to C:\Users\USER NAME\AppData\Roaming
You should find a Mozilla folder under that and somewhere within that folder will be your subfolder.
Delete the folder and every other file with the same name as the subfolder e.g. emails.msf & emails.sbdChange is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0 -
Ask on the Plusnet forum if no-one here can come up with the answer.0

Thanks Moto2. I have Windows 8.1 with Classic Shell installed. So far I've had no success.

Thanks John Gray - I'm too scared to try but I appreciate your reply.

Thanks LadyDee. I'll try the Plusnet Forum later. It's strange because I don't even remember how the subfolder I created was under 'Trash.'

No success deleting or finding the folder and files?
If the former, make sure Thunderbird is not running
If the later, you need to make sure hidden files are viewable
Control Panel>Appearance and Personalization>Folder Options
View tab
Advanced settings>Show hidden files and folders>OKChange is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0
