Return request from buyer-shoes smell of cigarettes

Me too, I've resold stuff on and had to list as previously owned by smoker as for a non smoker it's awful , you just can't get rid of it sometimes .
You always have to return. They could take up to 30 days and ebay would still refund them so you have to just do it. I have had returns still refunded after 30 days thanks to lovely ebay.
Thank you for your reply. Now I am looking for answers to my post above, as I don't know how to proceed with the return request after the buyer and I came to an agreement that she pays for the return postage.0 -
The buyer has now agreed to pay for the return postage after we exchanged a few messages through the refund request.
She said: "I think you can now send a message which automatically charges me for postage (via Paypal)".
I am not sure at all how it works. I thought that she will pay for the return postage and once I receive the shoes back, then I will refund her including the original postage. And when will the refund request be closed? I thought that ebay would have sent another option to me to click on that the buyer pays for the postage.
Thank you.
She needs to send item back to you by organising her own postage though either Royal Mail, MyHermes or ParcelMonkey. then, once you recieved it back, you can refund her through returns request0 -

Thank you very much for your answer, I will tell her that. But in the meantime, what happens to the ebay return request where all our messages show up. There is no option to click where it says that the buyer will pay for the postage and I certainly don't want to click on the one where I have to pay for the postage. In the request it says: "try to work things out by 23 Nov, 2015". How do I let ebay know that we came to an agreement and that the buyer pays for the postage?
thank you.0 -
No problem, I think you just wait in the meantime, just don't press any buttons until you get them back, then click on refund buyer0

I thought that you had no choice other than to send a label or money for return, or just refund. The fact that they are the only options seems to support my theory, however I am not entirely sure.
I also suspect that on the 23rd your buyer will get a refund unless you have opted for one of the choices in the dispute.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. That was my thought too soolin.
If you get them back before the 23rd you can refund and it'll be fine. After that, ebay can step in and I'd guess they'll refund regardless of whether you have the item back by then or not.
I'm rather surprised the buyer agreed to pay return postage, I wouldn't. It's not the buyers fault and they shouldn't be out of pocket.0 -
If it were me I would refund the buyer in full plus the return postage she has had to pay. Remember that they probably have not left you feedback yet!! So on the side of caution as it was really your fault that they are being returned I would refund the lot. You never know they may still give you positive feedback.*3.36 kWp solar panel system,10 x Ultima & 4 x Panasonic solar panels, Solaredge Inverter *Biomass boiler stove for cooking, hot water & heating *2000ltr Rainwater harvesting system for loo flushing *Hybrid Toyota Auris car *RIP Pingu, Hoppy, Ginger & Biscuit *Hens & Ducks* chat thread. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=52822090

I would certainly give positive feedback if a seller acted responsibly and refunded me fully.0 -
My sisters and her offspring all smoke and even though they smoke in the conservatory and not the house we still notice it and have to strip off when we get home and put everything in the washing machine.
We were there on Boxing day and the next morning we thought whats that smell, turned out to be our clothes. 1st thing we do now is chuck them all in the washing machine.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
