Receiving money from abroad

My parents live in the Caribbean (Grenada) and my mum would like to send me a small amount of money as a Christmas present (I'm guessing maybe £20-30). She has been unable to set up a PayPal account there so asked me how she could do it as her bank would charge her £20 for transferring it from her account to mine.
If anyone can help I'd be very grateful.

Thank them and ask to keep it until you visit them or someone visits you.0

Smartphone users can now do this sort of thing for free with Revolut, but an account or debit card in GBP, USD or EUR is required to load the funds without fees. Transfer between Revolut users is instant, or to non-users by sending a link, and any conversion is done at the interbank exchange rate.
Otherwise, assuming that the Grenada postal service is not too unreliable, I would send a banknote or two, slipped inside a thin leaflet or similar, by ordinary airmail.Evolution, not revolution0 -
As well as the sending fee your bank would charge you for receiving it.
Why are they unable to set up a Paypal account?0 -
Your relative could simply change money locally into £ and send you the cash in the post. Or send you some US$ if that would be of use to you as I expect that currency is well used in that part of the world.
For a small amount it's worth the risk.0
