We need a replacement cat flap - the old one is 14 years old, has had two replacement flaps and is basically leaking rain...
Anyway - the flap is fitted to a UPVC panel on our conservatory - so we wanted a simple straight swap
The old flap is a STAYWELL 17 - according to Pets at Home - a DELUXE model is a straight swap - no cutting required - but on getting it home - it clearly is totally different - the "17" was fitted in a curved bottom hole - the "Deluxe" is fitted in a square hole - the flap is being returned to the store ......

Who fitted the cat flap? I seem to recall having an old manual Staywell cat flap 20+ years ago, the template it came with for cutting the hole was square. My dad cut it with a curve at the bottom in order to cut away less of the door and make it more secure. It may not be PAH's fault or Staywell's fault.

Looks like you're right, according to these instructions for the Staywell 17:

We've had a few in the past for the cats and the dog, although got from Amazon, and staywell are very good with communication when i have emailed them to ask if they had a dog size cat flat for microchip (they don't)

all our boxes came with templates
