Hello all,
I hope your day has gone well so far
I am always with all kind of questions here, so bare with me
I have two jobs now. Does anyone know if HMRC can split my income tax allowance at 70% and 30%? I have had 50/50 before, as I earned similar amount of money in both jobs. This time I work 2-3 days in one place and only 1 day a week in the second place. I got a BR tax code for the second job, and I was wondering if it's worth calling HMCR and ask to change my tax allowance.
Thank you0 -

Used my £3 off conditional spend and the £3 dairy but it wouldn't scan and the sa was busy packing up to be bothered... Think she was off for lunch...
But I've worked out why there's no phili on the comparison or on my receipt but it's in my bag:eek: she must not have scanned it which put my spend at less than £12 for the moc to work. Win some loose some.
Do people really pay 50-60p for those fruit bowl pks??? There's nothing in them for the price. Better off buying actual fruit.
The monkeys won't eat them as it says 12 mths on the pk so I gave them to the food bank collector, I'm sure there will be some little out there that will enjoy them.0 -
The Lidl price collection has been done - of sorts. :(It's feeling like it would be easier to do the whole thing from scratch than to update a previous list. I felt I was spending ages looking and looking and looking for things that were already on the list, to see if they'd changed or not, and then not really taking in any new items. I'm also not as inconspicious as I would wish - whilst I was looking at lots of items in one area of the store, a member of staff asked me if there was anything I was looking for:eek:. I find it extremely hard to make things up but, somehow, more by fluke, I managed to ask for something that they didn't have. It's taken about 25 minutes - so it has been less time than the original from scratch but I didn't feel that way.
I have however noticed a little trick (or maybe a Lidl trick). The Oaklands 3 pack Mixed Peppers were out last week in what people may generally think of as being "the fruit & vegetable offers", in other words out on the aisle end, facing towards shoppers as they walk into the store and straight on, a bit like the Aldi Super6. Last week they were 59p. This week they have moved them, in my store, into the general run of stock and they are now 49p. :(This is turning out a bit like the Morries list when things on there, that I thought were good price, go down lower.
The 750g Leeks have done the same - they were 59p in what people may think of as being the weekly offers (maybe they aren't - maybe Lidl just wants to us to think that) last week, and now they are 49p although I have not been able to confirm that they are the precise same product as I don't have any stock this week but instead just a SEL that says "Leeks 750g". They do seem to be the Oaklands British Leeks (750g) though. Are they Oaklands this week? Are they British Leeks? The usual questions:rotfl:. The Mixed Peppers this week are definitely Oaklands and definitely 3 per pack - 500g. That's the same as what I have on last week's list.
So, last week, in the "offers" at 59p. This week they are 49p - with a crossed out price of 89p and a claim of 44% off. As far as I can see, they are the same product. If that is the case, then they could not possibly have been 89p for one week between last Thursday and now. Is this a series of reductions and, if so, why is that not made clear?
I think the Regina Belle kitchen towels in M may have turned out to be the same size rolls as well now and that I may have been wrong when I said they weren't. 2 pack says 140 sheets and 3 "for the price of 2" said 210. Well, that is the same number of sheets per roll. The 2 pack were (and are) on £2 offer, but last week I found some 3 "for the price of 2" pack in one M store that scanned at £3! That is not for the price of 2. The "extra free" packs were in a different part of the store and with pricing of £3 showing.
The 750g Leeks in Lidl - there were some Oaklands British Leeks (750g) at 59p last Thursday - are 49p and with £1.34 and with a claim of 63% off. Again, it seems they were 59p last Thursday though and £1.34 marked and crossed out is not the immediate previous price - unless they have had them at that price for about six days in the last week. If they have been £1.34 more consistently prior to the 59p offer, assuming they are the exact same product and it seems to me likely that it is, then is this a series of reductions and why is that not being made clear?
The Parsnips are still on - 49p last Thursday and today. The Spinach 250g, 59p last time, appears to be absent - unless it too is available in some other Lidl somewhere now and at 49p:rotfl:. There is now some Broccoli 500g at 39p. The Swede is off - was 45p now 89p. And the Purple Aubergine last week was another mistake as it is now 39p (I don't think I have any concerns about the method of its pricing as last week I had it at 45p and I don't think it's making any higher claim - I think it just says 39p, you can see how much attention I pay:rotfl:).
So, I will be doing another list. Next week I might use a different store as I can fit that in probably but beyond that I don't know - I might not bother with it anymore as it's proving too difficult and might just drop it before Christmas. That's the trouble with these places - they are small stores and you are more easily noticed.0 -
Think I'm off for a nap... I've got one of those sickly headaches stirring:(
Littleman woke me up at 3am this morning because he wanted to tell me something!! Then 10 minutes later he wanted his night light turning off!! Then 10 minutes later he needed the loo!! At 4.10 he flopped into my bed and fell asleep on my arm so it was one of those nights!!
If he had a single bed is have sneaked out and got in his but it's only a junior so legs not very comfy!

Good afternoon Elite :hello:
nsd for me today but been catching up with paper work and list making
Hope everyone warm and well on this cold day. If you're going out keep wrapped up, happy shopping.
I've had a catch up on here earlier and have noticed that TM is missing. She hasn't said that she's off on her jollies but I think a certain person has caused upset to her for no justified reason
TM if you are reading, please come back as its not the same without you. I could see by your original post you were being light hearted to FC and I'm sure she knew that.
Your friends on here know that you are a caring helpful person and wouldn't hurt anyone.
Shame on you David. For being thoughtless and too quick with your reply. You are NOT the only one that is devastated for FC and her family you know. I've shed tears for them too, I've spent time chatting to my friend but did not in anyway think that TM was making light of the situation.
An apology is due sir.
Thanks for saying that.
It is so easy to get things wrong when people are feeling emotional.
I have always thought that TM is one of the most caring and genuine people on here.
In fact I think she's an absolute treasure with a great sense of humour as well.0 -

An update on this -- these guys at the tail end of this thread https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4458419
seem to be able to double-dip tcb/qc as long as the following t&cs are not on the offer
- This offer is provided by CheckoutSmart and will only be awarded once, whether claimed via Topcashback or via any other publisher in the CheckoutSmart network.
So doubling for soft and gentle / schwartz / john smith etc is out for sure, but coke and half price gatoraid and kettle chips *may* work.
My same receipt coke went to confirmed on qc after I submitted to tcb, but there is still time for them to decline later. It seems that CoS is being syndicated to other networks, including TCB. The benefit is that you can now get the same offer x3 (per person), the downside is that you cannot get double bubble on your claim with the same receipt unless it also appears on Shopit (which isn't currently, to our knowledge, using the same network offers).
