Fish still working
Shop done at 16:46today. That garlic was a mushroom - the SA clearly needs to go to Specsavers !
But... it may have been a very good idea, because whilst that Garlic is N/A but loose garlic in M is really 30p, some loose mushroom was seen comparing very badly vs M.:T So, maybe the Specsavers appointment can be postponed a little more:D:rotfl::T. I once had an SA input the wrong type of apples for me and - as usual I'd really got the best one, but they knocked off a few pence from the voucher for me:(. I do it all myself nowadays:rotfl::rotfl:. Indeed, a long time ago, in the Co-op when I was very young, I can remember some Carrots being scanned as Black Grapes() and then the SA remarking about that and obviously correcting it as clearly Carrots aren't Black Grapes.0 -

This is better than what it looks because it is 12 pack, not 6 pack, but going through at 42p each for two? (However, it'd better be 12x25g or thereabouts or over and not 12x16g which is equivalent to merely a 6 pack:rotfl: - so, no small packs of Quavers Cheese please.) Maybe not every store though - reports of it not working in some places but maybe people not picking up right ones or not knowing what to look for? Anyway, I'm not venturing out at the moment. Will probably be over:( by the time I do but, to be fair, I do have enough crisps to cover Christmas and a little beyond - and some Cracker Crisps now thanks to SFSB:).
Why pay for petrol travelling to T (which I travelled to fruitlessly yesterday anyway:( so may as well have paid on a journey tonight) and then more real cash when I have vouchers for elsewhere to use at some stage? Okay, the coke zero was a clear exception as nowhere was going to come anywhere near that price and buying anything in A would have really wasted a voucher hugely - nowhere near as good as actually paying() £1.86 and having the vouchers still to spend, hopefully on something new glitchy at the time I come to spending them.:)
I would definitely get more cod if I could pack an extra two packs into the freezer, but happy now with both Cod and Basa that I've got (and, even though Basa turns out was quite more expensive, by comparison (we're 'only' talking under a pound aren't we?, so hardly big money expensive:rotfl::rotfl:), it's good to have the different fish).0 -
Evening folks
We had a fab day in London but I'm knackered now! We decided we couldn't be bothered with shopping so we did the tourist thing instead and ended up walking 10 miles
We went from Hyde park to Buckingham palace, caught the back end of changing if the guard, up through Westminster, Trafalgar Square, millennium bridge, tower bridge and loads in between, then got the tube back to Hyde park and went to winter wonderland which was good but bloody expensive  :eek:I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. Coke glitch at T confirmed working at 05:51 for whoever asked for a confirmation after 4:30/5am
The SS assistant saw me throw £3 into the machine and asked to check my reciept, I handed him it and he reprinted it to show the manager - so probably a no-go in the Chesterfield Extra store.
Cost £2.86
I got 12 sweets for £1 - 7 items
then a Freddo, Fudge and Dairy milk (all 25p each)
So the Coke only worked out at £1.11 for 4 cases (28p each)
Thanks PEScum
Apparently it stopped working after 1pm

Thanks sir dodgy for the Barilla info ......buying the pasta in T.....I haven't got an M near me so I'm going to give this a go tomorrow.
Can I ask if we can safely put whoopsies in with a BG shop now?
I seem to think we can but can anyone confirm please:)
Can I help? Or try to?
Own brand whoopsies are fine and safe (only issue is not duplicating them and thus not getting enough items). Obviously not the silly high 'whoopsies' prices that we still see around midday:rotfl:. On branded whoopsies though, you have to be really careful as, if they are available at the competitor you're comparing against, they are almost certainly going to be much more expensive (they'll compare to standard price and not to anything like the whoopsie price you'd get in T). Items that are on RTC in M should not be compared to, however I don't know: maybe the system could pick them up in error - and, if they're on whoopsie in T, the 'reduced' M price could be somewhat higher (and therefore lose TBG).
The Barilla info. - the Sauces are in italics on my M list. I don't have the other Barilla products on there as not considering them to be good value (I'm probably wrong about that though:rotfl:) but msm is quite good on the Barillas so look on there.
What other product (types) are you looking at for M and what are you thinking is unavailable and not sold by M?
Unfortunately, I think our paths may cross and I may not be here in time for you tomorrow, but I hope the own brand whoopsies are helpful to you.0 -

It's a very minor thing, and I'm being very hypercritical, especially as you did absolutely better on the Coke Zero:T, but you've effectively not got 12 for £1 there. By comparing against M - because the Coke Zero was beautiful vs there - when M does not have a 12 for £1 (or better) offer, you've in effect 'opted in' to paying M's prices on the sweets, where they are comparing against M, and therefore paying slightly higher prices on some of your sweets. It pales into not much significance - but, although you made a penny on the Fudge, you've lost 14p off your discount. This has resulted in being equivalent to you paying 12 for £1.14 for the sweets, in order words an extra pack and more (I can talk as I wrongly added 10p to my shopping bill:laugh:). Of course 12 for £1.14 rather than 12 for £1 isn't much of an mbuy at all, since much of the saving is taken away by the extra 14p - you may as well have just bought at straight full price (albeit we're talking 10p each) but, in any event, only needed to buy one pack of each sweet and not the extra cost of as many as 12.
We could also say you've lost pennies on several of them as lost 10% cheaper if they had been bought in A and compared from there - or even attempted a compare against T's 12 for £1 from A - however these items were absolutely essential to the T shop in making the ten items, would have been likely hard to find any others that were as cheap, and are absolutely and emphatically outweighed by the Coke Zero discount and could not have achieved that without them.
The very minor pales-into-insignificance payment of 14p more makes it equivalent to being slightly less good than an 11 for £1 offer, not 12 for £1, as it's paying 9.5p each on the sweets (averaged out among all of them) and hardly any saving off buying at straight 10p each (indeed, you've bought more in order to get 12 - you only needed one of each different one). It's 11 for £1.04 and a half penny. If you get a T deal that is better than the competitor to whom your shop at T compares best, and that deal is one that appears on your comp., then you lose that deal and end up with the competitor's pricing, which sees you paying more - whether it is a bit more or a lot more (depending on how much more or not the competitor's pricing, on the ones that T finds to be comparable, is). Getting T's 12 for £1 unfortunately did nothing and 11 for £1.04... is actually worse than an 11 for £1 deal that runs in M, but unfortunately not on all the ones that you've managed to match, to slightly higher M prices, from T.
But... brilliant, Coke Zeroes!!:D:j:j:T:T And who cares about 14p or so? I paid 10p extra on my shop(:(:rotfl:).0
