Oh, surprise! Mars Advent Calendar worked:eek::j (I wouldn't normally jump around for that - it's v.expensive compared to post-Christmas prices:laugh: - but given that I thought I'd lost it I will). I thought I'd found a glitch on my shop when the voucher came back now unexpectedly "big", but just normal T prices (old on the calendar). So, I'll happily share my muggle shop with you:

10 items (8 different) on your receipt qualify for comparison Asda tesco
    1x Asda Smartprice Rice Pudding (400G) £0.15 £0.15
    1x ASDA Smartprice Salted Peanuts (200G) £0.48 £0.48
    1x Mars Advent Calendar (111G) £2.00 £1.00:T
    2x ASDA Smartprice Cornish Pasty (150G) £0.60 £0.60
    1x Twix Fun Size Bars 13 Pack (275G) £1.39 £1.00
    2x ASDA Grower's Selection Baking Potatoes (2.5KG) £4.00 £2.00
    1x Maltesers Fun Size 9 Pack (195G) £1.39 £1.00
1x ASDA Chosen by You Frozen for Freshness Button Sprouts (1KG) £1.00 £0.80
Comparison total (compared products only) £11.01 £7.03
    +£3.98 cheaper

Again, I wouldn't normally clap with "Thanks that's brilliant" symbol after the calendar - I think it means "Thanks that's brilliant" rather than mere "Thank you" and, at 10% off £1, it's hardly "brilliant" lol:rotfl:. But, in the circumstances, where I felt it could have gone £2.79 T, it is a thank you!

Over £11 spent:eek: and only £4.69 back - let's round it up to a fiver - not quite the 50%+ mark I aim for (on shops where I have to buy essential items:mad:) but done very well in the circumstances. Shop was done at nearly half past four this afternoon in case it's relevant.

I think this means prices wouldn't have updated to the Sanex £1 in any event. So we have to wait two days for them to pick up new T prices:mad:. But, pleased my calendar actually compared against £1 due to their own tardiness:D.

I know - I bought funsize packs comparing against T at 2 for £2 rather than the 43p packs in M. However, I wanted Maltesers and Twix rather than the Morrisons ones I already have.

I notice :((:rotfl:) they've not adjusted the rice pudding for weight against T. Comparing to T at same price rather than 14p adjusted. But, am I too bothered with that? Well, yes I am actually:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:. No, I'm not: one penny, so what!

I'm counting on M not playing ball on the potatoes again. I'm there tomorrow - I doubt they will, hope not now anyway:rotfl:. Had to get something that gave something worthwhile back, in the absence of any Sanex, and potatoes seemed the answer.

thank you - I am wondering if this comes through as an email or a print off voucher or one you can use direct from your phone

I am having a lot of email problems today ...

panic over, its come through as a code so maybe some places will just allow it from your phone

T may have put its price on the Advent Calendar up online this afternoon. (In other words, after the lunchtime update, if there was one.) The cheeky so-and-sos! Obviously, they've put it up from £1 to £2.79 and guess what? 2 for £3 indeed:rotfl::wall::p:rotfl::laugh::D:p:).

These stores eh - all they are trying to do is make money:rotfl::rotfl:. How dare they!:D:rotfl:

"Offer valid for delivery from from I]sic[/I tomorrow". About the 2 for £3 on the Calendar. No thank you:rotfl:.

The thing is, if you Google T's name and the product name, you can actually see:
"Mars Mixed Advent Calendar 111G. Better Than Half Price Was £2.79 Now £1.00Offer valid for delivery from 11/11/2015 until 17/11/2015. This Product Is ..." and, then you click on the link and go to the page on t.com, and find out it's £2.79 and 2 for £3.00 so-called "offer" - valid from tomorrow.

Bit of a shame:rotfl:. I thought the offer had expired and the product was actually costing people £2.79 and £2 for 3 instore in T today - but all I get is 10% cheaper than a current T price:rotfl:!

Probably confirmation of what most of us already know..

Buy 12 Sun newspapers for £4.80.

Cut out the Cidre voucher from each one for a free bottle.

Take said vouchers to A and buy 4 different flavours x 3 plus 4 fillers.

Mention to sa that they are £2 each (when they are actually 3 for £5) to make sure they put the vouchers through at £2 each time and get overage of £4.

    Get your apg for £2.

Jump up and down because you paid £4.80 for the Suns and have got back 12 x bottles of Cidre, overage of £4 and an apg for £2.

So, A have paid you £1.20 to take away and drink 12 bottles of yummy cidre..:beer:

I believe there are cheaper ways of doing this, perhaps to do with buying the papers in the coop, however I cba with that and my post is about this amazing offer, available to all of us in its easiest format.

In case you didn't know, these vouchers will be available again in the Sun for the next two Fridays..:D

I know there is a website called PTS (Paid to Shop), perhaps we should have our own one called PTD (Paid To Drink)

    3x Stella Artois Cidre Raspberry Cider (500ML) £5.00 £5.00
    3x Stella Artois Cidre Cider (568ML) £5.00 £5.00

1x Kingsmill Soft White Medium Sliced Loaf (800G) £0.75 £0.75
    3x Stella Artois Cidre Elderflower Cider (500ML) £5.00 £5.00
    1x Giant Strawberry Stripes (1PK) £0.10 £0.10

this is a good clear post and needs to be repeated very early Friday morning for the bewildered amongst us :D

if your store has the new updated tills and/or has till trouts then it might not be as easy.

I have chickened out and mostly got my cidre in Morrisons (and more newspapers) and I've been getting other things with MOCs at the same time eg Barilla and used the overrage for bits of shopping I need

I've been getting sets of 12 bottles at a time - is that what everyone is doing. I think 12 looks like normal shopping (whereas 24 or 36 would look suss :D )

my other problem is one of space. I am going to have to excavate the back of the study sofa to try and find more bottle space and this is where my best NZ wine is hidden away from the ravinging hoards :D
“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”
  • I have just ordered the last but one Chirstmas present :D

Waiting for OH to decide what phone he wants then I can order that.

Much as I love going on holiday this time of year, bit of a nuisance having to compress Christmas stuff so much!

At least we have a housesitter for deliveries :D
