Is it possible to have 2 credit records?

I have a few credit cards and my main bank account in my full christian name "Nicholas" and a few credit cards, a loan and a current account in the name I use the most "Nick"

When I applyed for my last credit card I used the name "Nicholas" and I got rejected, I applyed again using the name "Nick" and I got a automatic YES with a £1700 credit limit.

Just wondering if it could be possible I have 2 records.

Consider the number of John Smiths out there. Now consider that if you have maintained an account with just your nickname, you would have started building up a history with that name ... They would not have automatically linked your nickname and your real name.

I would guess that is possible. You could try doing one of the credit reference free trials - I think there is a section which asks you if you are known by any other names - I think this may get the records merged for you.
