tesco deals for egypt

We're saving our tesco vouchers for a family(5) holiday to egypt next year. We're on course for deals equivalent of over £4000. I just wanted to get an idea of some good places and hotels,I guess it will have to be cosmos as I cant find any others that go to egypt.Ideally we would love to spend time in cairo and we dont fancy sharm el sheik. It will be totally free except spending money so any pointers would be appreciated.

XL seem to be a about the cheapest and they did seem to have a fair amount of choice when i looked for october but then of course you have to book by end of oct this year as they are pulling out.

Friends who have been have said try and go for 5 star as its not really 5 star. They also said that most of the all inclusive places they have been to seem to have a lot of restrictions and its dead cheap to eat out anyway
Aim to win in 2013 - a holiday somewhere nice, New York break, treats for family & friends & some cash would be lovely!!!

We have been to Egypt 8 times now, in the Luxor area, in Aswan and on the Nile.
I would agree, go for the highest star rating you can as hotels do vary in quality. Check out the reviews on the Trip Advisor or Holiday Watchdog web sites.
Don't bother with 'all inclusive' as there is a huge choice of places to eat. we met two families who were booked AI and they were complaining about the lack of choice in their nightly buffets.
Also, don't waste money by paying for half board as the tour company rip you off! you get charged about £12 ppn in the UK but are only given a meal allowance worth £8, plus you are tied to the hotel or the hotel chain.

We are just back from our 1st trip with Cosmos, which was the best value this year compared to Thomas Cook or Thomsons for the New Winter Palace which is our choice. Have started saving my Tesco points too - am 25% there!
