Landlords and light fittings?

No, it wants £432 for a box of 25 Sylvania tubes.
/facepalm, you're completely correct, having said that though the fact it also appears to be the only box left in the UK does help my case so thanksI appreciate that your mind's clearly already made up here so offering advice isn't going to get very far, but you could at least look at the suggestions being offered rather than just "sort by most expensive" to back up your point then not read the result properly.
I didn't order it by price, that is the only result on the site for 8ft tubes. I simply figured they were price gouging as they only had one.
And my mind is made up because I'm asking for help on getting these obsolete fittings replaced not if they need replacing. Sorry if that comes over rude.0 -
To bring some closure to this, the landlord has looked into it and has admitted they are responsible for getting the obsolete fittings replaced so have sent an electrician round to work out what work needs doing, this story is happy end0

Back to the post about BC3 bulbs, if, like ours it is a new build ask the neighbours, two of ours have removed them to fit posh lights in their halls. Result is that I have plenty of nearly new BC3 bulbs and the fittings for them somewhere in the garage.0

Someone above said you can get bc3 bulbs anywhere. Where? I've tried every supermarket, every outlet, and can only find details ghee online for around £10 apiece! I am having discussions with the housing association, but, as far as I can gather from older posts, there is low availability and Eaton have a monopoly on them. Perplexed and annoyed. Help!:0

That is BC, not BC3.0 -

Just replace the BC3 pendant with a BC pendant for about £1. Two wires and a small screwdriver.

Ok if you are an owner but the poster is a housing association tenant.0 -

It seems unlikely to me that the housing association would notice or care. Anyway, as long as the keep the old one, they can always change it back if the housing associated demands they reinstall their defunct fitting.
Really, it's just a matter of whether the OP feels confident to undertake a fairly small electrical job."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius0 -

They won't notice but they may very well care.
I suspect the poster isn't confident enough to change the fittings themselves otherwise they would have already done so.
The house we have just bought was built in 2010 and had several BC3 fittings still in place which I have changed to BC therefore I have a number of BC3 bulbs which I will never use. There must be thousands laying around in cupboards destined for landfill.0
