Monthly Income

I have around £250,000 to invest in the hope of getting around 5% to boost my meager pension. I am considering the vanguard life strategy options but any cost effective solutions/advice would be very helpful. I also spotted in one of the posts reference to a "monthly income thread" on here. I have searched but can't find it no matter how I try. Can anyone provide a link please?

I started it in 2013, the intention was and is just to catalogue events and shifting ideas and fortunes along the way, warts and all, of which there have been a few.
There were a few good posts by Ark Welder early in the thread when I was debating which direction to take that have been deleted, for some peculiar reason, which is a shame for others reading it.

I try not to update it too often as folks would probably get sick of seeing it, if they're not already, and other than tracking performance there's often not a lot happening.
Since I've chosen CSD to hold the portfolio for a number of reasons, I'm restricted to 12 trades annually if I want to maximise the cost savings on their platform, which is one of the reasons.

I've made a few purchases recently and sold MRCH so will be updating it again some time soon.
