Dial Plans - Whats the best ones

I've with a great deal of help from BritBrat & Bex got my VOIP working. I've as far I know have entered in all of Bex dial plan but it still requires me to enter the international dialling code.

I was wanted to know other tweaks such as how do I access the three way calling etc? Voicemail etc

Are these all FREE? What are the best Tweaks!
Help me to help you :santa2:

  • Or at least how can I keep 18185 for Mobiles and the rest through my VOIP provider (VOIP DISCOUNT).

    Thanks!

The dial-plan I have at the moment is:

    (*xx|0|00|<0:0044>[1-8]xx.|<999:00441216874070>S0|<:0044121>[2-8]xxxxxx|xx.)

You'd need to change the <:0044121> to your dialling code, as 0044121 is a Birmingham dialling code in international format, the [2-8] afterwards means accept calls that begin with the digital 2 through to 8, then accept any other six more digits - there for this means any local 7 digit number begining 2,3,4,5,6,7 or 8 will be allowed and sent out with the full international dialling code attached.

The <0:0044>[1-8]xx. means allow you to dial 01..., 02..., 03..., 04... etc up to 08 with any number of digits afterwards greater than 2 and dial out with 0044 in place of 0.

Both these should mean if entered correctly that for local numbers you only have to dial the local number and the dial plan will add on the correct full international code and also national numbers can be dialled as normal and the dial-plan will add on the international code. Meaning you don't need to dial any number other than international numbers with the international code.

The <999:00441216874070>S0| you can remove as later you'll be adding that 999 calls go straight out over the PSTN
    .

I'll look into getting dial plans for using the PSTN for some calls.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

    3-Way Calling.

Dial the first person you wish to talk to, when they answer tell them you are about to make a 3-way call and for them to hang on the line.

    Press the Recall button.

Dial the second person you wish to talk to when they answer tell them you are about to join their call and the first call together into a 3-way call.

Press the Recall button and you are now all connected together.

    Or

Dial the first person you wish to talk to, when they answer tell them you are about to make a 3-way call and for them to hang on the line.

    Press the Recall button.

Dial the second person you wish to talk to, as the line is ringing press the Recall button, now both you and the first caller are connected and you both will hear the other line ring and answer.

    (*xx|0|00|<0:0044>[1-4]xx.|<07:1818507>xx.<:@gw0>|100S0<:@gw0>|15xS0<:@gw0>|0[58]xx.<:@gw0>|999S0<:@gw0>|<:0044121>[2-8]xxxxxx|xx.|<#9,:>xx.<:@gw0)

Note these are Zeros after 999S and gw

Give that a try, it should route certain calls over the PSTN, route calls to 07 numbers over the PSTN via 18185, any calls it doesn't router over the PSTN and you want to force calls to go that router dial #9 first.

Remembering to change the 0044121 for you local area and to correct the number of x's after the first allowed digit to fit with your local area.

  • Tried the
    (*xx|0|00|<0:0044>[1-8]xx.|<:01273>[3]xxxxx|<:00441273>[2-8]xxxxxx|xx.)
Just so that I he doesn't have to dial 01273 area code and that doesn't work ...? ?
Ideally I want all UK to go through 18185 and international through VOIPDiscount

Brain still weak at the moment, try that and let me know - I'm probably completely wrong somewhere, I will try and work it out, but might get us somewhere.

  • hmm... no numbers are recognised

unless I have it setup wrong? I don't have it connected to the telephone as such, the modem is connected to the phone and the linksys to the modem. It does work for VOIPDiscount so far but not for 18185

Sorry for that. Don't know what's happened to my brain - exhausted, probably needs more of a rest.
