Windows 10 update

I had windows 10 since July and it was running OK, but last night, windows did a massive upgrade (it looked like it was re-installing windows 10) This morning my Kaspersky IS seems to have an incompatibility issue. When I go on security and maintenance from the control panel, it tells me that windows firewall and kaspersky internet security are both turned off. If I click on click on check firewall, it allows me to turn on kaspersky, but nothing seems to happen. Yet when I check on Kaspersky it tells me that my computer is protected.
I also have Cortana on my task bar instead of the search option which I used to have.
Any advise would be appreciated.

Forgot to mention that since this update I'm also getting a notification that Intel WiDi has been removed from my PC. What does this mean0
