Advice on DVD Burning programs

Options
Hi peeps !

Ive been using Nero vision recently to burn my DVDs. it takes like 2-3 hours to burn 1 film.
Ive bought a good LG burner but why is Nero so slow.

I installed a random free dvd burning program called [deep burner] and your talking like 5-6 minutes for a full DVD.

Dont get me wrong, i like the menu on the Nero copies but is it normal for it to take upto 3 hours?

I don't have Nero Vision, but I do have Nero Express. This burns a DVD in about 10 minutes. This is probably a daft question, but you haven't got it set to burn at x 1 speed have you?

i dont know. its the nero 7 ultra enhanced edition. there isnt an option to choose write speed on it. it just goes through steps. you choose the film, change the title. then you see a picture of a remote control then it burns. the film is playing on the right hand side of the screen 2/3 x faster ? no option to say speed ?

As above it does sound like your burn speeds are set too low, another tip is to ensure your not running other apps whilst burning a disk, it does slow it down.

Before you click "burn" in NERO, check the burn speed settings on the panel, set it to MAX

This is what it looks like in Nero Express. I had to click the small arrow halw way down on the left to expand the panel with the speed on it.

    Nero.

Does what it says on the tin.

I always set it to X4, never ever used max and I have working copies from 2003 and may be even further back.

If it's important and you want to keep it burn it slow.
