Hello,
I have been trying for the past week to attempt to contact this website below as they have all my personal information such as name, address and dob all publicly available on their site for everyone to view even without having to sign up or pay to view this.
I have setup an account to request that they remove my details from their site however; they are refusing to comply with this request unless I provide them with more personal information as well as a scanned copy of my passport and other photo id. This seems like a complete scam as they clearly have no intention in removing peoples information.
They are also stating that as the site is in US that they have no obligation to comply with UK law and that its lawful to publish peoples details in the US.
I have attempted to find out who setup the site and contact them directly but all whois domains show is that the owner has kept this private which seems very odd for a site that is happy to publish everyones details without their prior consent to do so.
I was therefore wondering if someone could please advise if they have ever had any dealings with this site before and if they removed their details?
They are also trying to charge users for an expedited removal process but this does not appear to make any difference apart from them profiting of the money earned.
The website is:

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

My info is from my old out of date electoral roll. Since the opt out of public info on the electorate my information remains private.
That they have your details via the electoral roll, you have omitted to opt out of the open register, there is nothing you can do as its publicly available information.
My advice would be to opt out by contacting your local council. But dont expect any previous information to be removed as it was already in the public domain.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

As above they probably have no data on you, but forward a search for your name to the free electoral roll data.
There are several sites like that around, you will be forever chasing your tail trying to get them all to block your name. Also mentioned above your data is free for anyone to access unless you opted out.
Going back before the internet really took over very few people probably knew they could.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
So, I've been opted out on the Electoral Register since long before I moved to my current address, and yet my details are available.
My wife's details aren't though.
Guess they are getting their information from multiple sources.0 -
I have just spent time getting my personal address info removed from simslar sites but they were UK based and rather easy to do, a simple form online or in the post with proof of ID for some. I found they removed my information rather quickly and two - both Cardiff based confirmed back by letter it had been done.
I've also seen the website the OP mentioned and it's American owned, to remove your information they want to charge you for it via (cannot post link) which is clearly a scam. I didn't proceed any further since the only information they had for me was incorrect anyway, wrong middle initial and an address I have not lived at for 9 years.
I am on the closed registered now, so shouldn't see my current address popping up anytime soon!0 -
Thats about it really let people know that they need to select to hide their data from the public register.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
