cineworld codes on ebay - anybody know where seller gets them from ?

Options
there is a seller on ebay selling cineworld codes valid from monday to thursday i.e.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262141303016

He seems to have an almost endless supply of them so I was just wondering if anybody here might know where he is getting these codes from ?

I tried to search around the internet but havent found anything so far

Couldn't say for sure where the seller gets his from... but I get a hefty discount at Cineworld, Vue & Odeon through work and I guess I have an unlimited supply of tickets. Wouldn't risk selling them though!!

  • Plus tesco vouchers. I know I bought one not long back and it came up it was a Tesco reward, but if It was me I would use it for something else tbh

  • As for the codes for mid week or any day, it's just clever marketing as the code gives you any ticket that's 2d

  • if the tesco codes are any day then I dont think thats what he is selling
    - there have also been other promotions such as prudential vitality, tic tacs & sweet sunday, wowcher, living social & groupon none of which were monday to thursday IIRC

my best guess currently is that either he either works for a company that produces these codes or hes written some sort of 'warez' code generator - hence the reason for the apparent unlimited number of codes & him selling them at just £4 with best offer available

For the tictacs he would need a lot of email addresses as it was one per email address as I saved the 24 in the end to get the headphones

  • Not too sure. Did you ever buy and try?
  • if you have a vitality life insurance policy every one gets a free one with no name on every week x

if anybody actually buys one of the codes he is selling then the format of the first few letters of the code may give an indication of where it came from

also IIRC straight after you enter a code on the cineworld website you might get some basic info about the code in the form of a brief description e.g. IIRC sweet sunday codes used to come up with something like 'mars promo'

... so if someone could maybe post up a code & its 'description' AFTER they have used it then that would help identify it

he has been selling these for at least around 6 months now (when I first noticed so probably a lot longer) & has made 1000's of £ so I hope its legit & not him doing something dodgy - I only noticed as I was trying to get rid of a few unwanted tic tac codes last autumn

there is also someone who has been selling white 'we're sorry' vouchers for a long time (on & off - none around at the moment) & Im pretty sure they are being stolen by a cineworld employee e.g. seller http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/jmc19garden

surprised cineworld dont try to clamp down on this sort of thing
