FIREFOX, FACEBOOK & WINDOWS 10 help

I've once again upgraded from Win 7 to Win 10. I'm still having problems with FF that's why I reverted back to Win 7. I don't really want to revert back again but I'm having problems with:

1. FireFox browser loading up (it took 8 minutes this time):(
2. Facebook apps crash & wont load. (Thankfully I've conquered my addiction to Candy Crush or this would drive me c-r-a-z-y)!

Could someone help me to sort this out please?
:j I hope my comment helps :T

Try opening a run box or command prompt and type "firefox -p" to open the Firefox Profile Manager. Create a new profile (just for testing) and see if you have any problems using that. Maybe something has messed up your current profile.
  • Not much of a user of Facebook BUT Firefox has always worked fine for me in Win10; much-preferred to Chrome or the positively nasty (IMHO) Edge.
So the suggestion of trying a new profile is a good one; failing that, a response I got on a thread about Start Button not working may explain:
(thanks to Yolina for posting this, btw)
it's possibly one of those "if the planets align and your goldfish is watching TV and you have a red car" type of gremlins :)
  • I've decided to use Facebook on Microsoft Edge. I don't really do anything on FB than play games anyway. I'm sticking to Firefox as my default browser though as everything else seems to work fine.

Samsung laptop. I don't have this problem with Windows 10, Firefox & Facebook on my PC - but then I upgraded from Win 8.1 to Win 10 on the PC.

    Thanks for your replies :-)

    Hi

Have you done / considered printing out the page that lists your Licence key details, I suggest Belarc.
Then you can download and make a dvd or usb installer device.

Do a clean install of Win 10.
Enter your licence key, get some Anti-Virus, add Firefox etc.

If you have used the free upgrade to Windows 10 you do not need the Windows 10 key. If for some reason you do clean install you skip the step when asked for the key. MS will recognise the previously activated computer when you come to activate and reactivate the machine.

I have no problems with Windows 10/Firefox/Facebook. Been using for months now.

I am a Compac CQ58 and actually had the Windows 10 upgrade in a sneeky monthly updates. But its all worked out fine.
  • I'm on a Mac and had preferred FF for years, however things were working unusually slowly.

Once I started using Safari / Chrome more - I noticed a huge increase in speed and things didn't crash so much

Perhaps just a mac issue. I did love Firefox though, for various reasons including the ability to use it as a web development tool.

I'm also on a Mac and prefer Firefox, however, while I don't get any crashes on either my Macbook or iMac I have noticed it slowing down, particularly the last two releases.

If it doesn't improve soon then it's Safari for me too.
