Some help please 🙂 My mum has just received a letter from this company who say that they are holding a cash balance on her behalf. Doesn't say how much or where it's been invested. In order for her to claim it they are asking for some proof if ID, such as a utility bill etc.
I've never heard of them and my mum has no idea who they are, doesn't ring any bells with her regarding investments.
Has anybody on here had any experience of this company? Are they legitimate? Obviously I'm reluctant to give them any details without being sure.
Thanks in advance for any help

Henderson Gloabl Investors are certainly a reputable company. https://www.henderson.com/henderson
Whether the letter your mum received is actually from them is a different matter. HGI would not typically hold cash balances. Who's deposited the money, and how did HGI find out your mum's address? Has she called them to discuss their apparent letter?0 -
You are wise to be wary. I would phone the company directly - do not use any contact details on the letter but use the phone number direct from their website. You can get the number for the London office here: https://www.henderson.com/henderson/content/contact-us-global . Explain the situation and they will be able to inform you if it is genuine.
You can try Googling the contact details in the letter if you wish, which may give an indication if they are genuine.
Edit: Henderson have a page on their website dedicated to various scams that fraudulently use their name, along with a number to call if you are worried. Here is the page: https://www.henderson.com/henderson/content/security-info . The number is 0800 832 832.0 -
Is it possible that your dad had some investments with Henderson?sukiwilliams wrote: »I've never heard of them and my mum has no idea who they are...0 -

Many thanks everyone for all your input. I've contacted the company directly via their official website and happily it is a genuine letter. Nice surprise! 🙂0
