Hi People
I have a Plasma TV and the shop told me not to use it with game consoles because of "screen burn".
My brother in law uses his without any trouble (about 1 month now)
Just wondered if anyone esle had any problems with theirs or knew anything.
Cheers

I think this is only caused if you have the picture on pause for a while or if the same picture is shown for a length of time. I pulled this from another site:
Plasma technology does have static image screen burn-in factors to consider. Static images will begin to "burn-in" the image displayed in a short period of time, approximately 15 minutes in some cases. Though the "burn-in" can generally be "washed" out using gray images or continual full color ranges over several hours, burn-in is a significant factor and hindrance to the plasma technology.0 -
Hi
Hubby knows about these things....
You will only get screen burn if you play for a prolongued period of time i.e. same game for several weeks - and if it has a static image anywhere on the screen eg: score, inanimate objects etc. The same thing can happen if you watch the same tv channel over and over again (eg: logo at top of screen on ITV 4)
He suggests you should be fine so long as you regularly change the games you play.0 -
Thanks People
Guess I might take the plunge and give it a go then?
Must admit I can't wait to see "Call Of Duty" on a 42" screeb .... lolDo I Need It ? .......... Do I Want It? .......... What Will Happen If I Don't Buy It? .......... I'm So Confused I Need Help!0 -
My sister has plasma and a wii plugged into it, there is a button on controller that u can use which turns the screen virtually black while your pausing it for a length of time to stop the burning, presume most plasmas will have it?0

Supposedly the current/new generation of plasmas have the same burn in as the CRTs did. So sounds like it has vastly improved. Of course this is a claim by the manufacturing industry itself so not sure how true it is."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
