Don't throw your 2015 calendar away at the end of the year!

The year 2026 is exactly the same as 2015, so keep your 2015 calendar in a drawer for ten years and you'll be quids in!

    Another TOP TIP.....

Don't throw away those old telephone directories as they make handy address books...... just cross-out everyone you don't know.

I knew there was a reason I was keeping the family holiday desk calendar from a few years back. It Isn't just that my lads look unusually endearing - I'm keeping it til it's back in synch & I can croon over them all over again rather than try to get teenagers to cooperate in 13 nice photos!

  • I usually get one of the long thin calendars with pictures at the top - usually in the sales about 50p or less (once got a real bargain at 10p !) - then at the end of the year I cut round the pictures with pinking shears/scissors and then use as tags for birthdays/Christmas.

I use the plain backs of what is left - cut into useable sized pieces they are good for writing notes / shopping lists.

My friend uses the pretty pictures (she had a William Morris too) as mini posters around the house. I thought it should be possible to print 2016 calendar pages free from the Internet and glue or staple them to last year's.

On the ther hand, i love finding bargain calendars in February (using my £1.20 charity shop diary to keep engagements) and have a new set of pictures on my kitchen wall, and recycle my old calendar with the rest of the paper. Our use of paper is so limited, we reuse envelopes, back of envelopes for notes and phone messages, newspapers for firefighters etc, that once in a while a bit of change is not the end of the world.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

I'd like to claim credit for this money saving tip but credit where it's due, I nicked the idea (sorry, re-used it) from the 2016 year planner thread.

OMG there's a planner thread? Like I don't lose enough time mooching on this site :rotfl:

I read the heading and wondered if you were a member of a FB group where there's just been a thread about washi-taping over the dates of a spare calendar to use next year. Are ya? :D

  • For anyone wanting to try this, there is actually a website where you can check when calendars come around again. I kid you not.
