I prefer a variable direct debt which British Gas let me do.
I do have to do meter reading every month but that is a small price to pay for a correct bill and I know I'm always up to date with my payments and will never have under or over paid which often happens with a fixed direct debt.0 -
I don't know why QVDD isn't more popular. monthly fixed DD with a smart meter is good for me. The daily meter readings mean the bill predictor is accurate, and means the fixed DD can be updated to take account of any over/under payment or a lump sum can be withdrawn.0
