Hi everyone,
I was in bed last night when DH came home so he said he would make the meal, unfortunately it was virtually inedible (although he ate his portion). He is usually a good cook, although nowadays he doesn't cook many meals because I don't work outside the home. I had cheese on toast later.
DS and fiancee came round, they're on their 3rd week without a kitchen but they don't suffer in silence. I told them the next house they buy needs to be fully renovated at this rate. They are off to Italy to look at th venue they want for the wedding so hopefully it will be booked and we'll be able to start planning when they get back.
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Afternoon all,
Its still dry here but very windy, its to get worse later I think but we have food, oil and fuel for OHs beloved fire...I would be happy with just the heat as its cleaner.
TA....hope that OHs treatment is working and that you manage to bulk him up.
OH asked if we were going shopping this morning....not like him at all, we have lots of food in, im not in the mood for Christmas shopping so staying put, will do some knitting later, have not been in the humour lately so need to get moving again, not sure if I will be making man, if any, Christmas gifts this year, so no sense of panic, have reduced the gift budget and only really buy for grandchildren now.
Dinner tonight will lamb chops with leeks, squash and potatoes, love lamb but its a rare treat as its so expensive....might make white sauce to go with the leeks. I bought panettone lately in Lidl so will have a slice of that as pudding.
Hope that the day pans out to everybodys satisfaction, take care and stay safe

Hi everyone,
Glad you are feeling better AOD
TA- glad the docs are pleased about DH treatment.
Sistercas enjoy your well deserved 2 weeks off
BB sounds like youve been very busy crafting.I'm trying to make some Xmas cards but can't decide on the design.
Its my DNieces birthday today,12,so DB has invited us round for tea.Since we moved to this house it's only just over 5 mins walk through the path in the woods across the road,10 if we want to keep our feet clean and walk round the long wayShes already texted her thanks for her present.
It was lovely when I walked Ly1a this morning but clouding over now.We were nearly back when I saw some bags in the road -thought they were empty but they were unopened smartprice food things and she grabbed one with sausages in-best before Sep 15,and there was no way she was parting with it,certainly not for the paltry biscuit I offered her, then her ball.Another lady came past and I mentioned the bags, she said she'd seen them Monday and assumed they were put out for the binmen.Anyway got her home, still with the bag clamped fast in her jaws, straight into the kitchen, didnt fancy manky sausage juice going anywhere else:eek:,she realised I couldnt take the halti off and dropped them. For once I was quicker than she was and scooped it up,thank goodness-had visions of her being ill all over the place_pale_
Because she is so big prob about 55kg of Mastiff now,I couldn't manage without the aforementioned halti AND she has a body harness too with a long lead linking both together :rotfl:
Right I'm off into the loft-I saw an appeal locally for coats for homeless men and I know there are some of DS up there that he'll not use again so want to have a sort out.
Take care x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Afternoon all, later today as had awful nights sleep but DOH let me sleep and took the girls by himself.
Got over to the yard about 10am as one thing my boy is allowed to do is to be grazed in hand so spent very pleasant hour or so standing in the sunshine whilst lovely lad happily munched on grass. No matter what the next few weeks bring am going to make the most of time with him, it's funny how things work out coz without the work issue I would not have so much time on my hands and couldn't do what I did this morning so guess someone, somewhere has a plan!
Need to catch up on chores now, it's still sunny here so house is nice and warm, girls are taking naps in sun patches.
Get well wishes to poorly folk, strength to those who need it x0 -
Got to Glasgow just before the clouds burst and the rains came down. Very windy and blustery all the way down so the drive was extremely slow and careful.
My mum arrived home looking like a drowned rat and she only walked across her road to the front door from her car. I've made her a cup of tea and she's catching up on missed programmes.
I've no idea if I'll get away tomorrow. The storm may have passed through if I'm lucky.0 -
Just popping my head round the door - hope all those caught in bad weather are warm and safe xx
Hoping we will miss most of it down here on the IOW.
Take care all xxNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Very windy and rainy here , I gather it's much worse in Scotland , take care and keep safe everyone
I managed to cut the grass and Sweep some leaves before the rain came , I imagine that will be the last cut , although I thought that last time I cut it :rotfl:
Dd2 is out I will be glad when she is home :cool:0 -
Good evening everyone,
Luckily we haven't had any of the hurricane here, Hope that everyone is staying safe.
It sounds like I wasn't the only one last night who didn't get a good night's sleep. I couldn't settle very well, plus it is so warm at night. We still have our summer quilt on at the moment!!
It is getting busier at work as our numbers are going up which is good, but I am quite shattered, I will be glad when tomorrow is finished.
DS and DD are both working this evening, so DH and I are having a quiet evening relaxing, although I am sure we will soon be providing a taxi service:rotfl:
I have been baking this evening, I have made a loaf of bread, a fruit cake and a batch of twink's hobnobs, so that will keep us going for a while.
I just have some ironing and must put some washing on.
Hugs to everyone. Have a good evening all x.SPC 11 #4450
