Letter from Wescot am I being scammed?

I have today received a letter from Wescot Debt Recovery in Hull for £10.98 saying its owed to Red Hot, I have also received a number of recorded messages on my home phone during the last few days asking me to ring them.
I very vaguely remember somebody asking for monies on behalf of the same company a long time ago and I'm sure I contacted them and read on here it was a scam.
If I owed someone £10.98 I would have paid it.:(
Can anyone help please? Thanks

Hi,
Wescott are a, I hate to say it, "legitimate" debt collection agency, however, a debt for £10.98 will not be chased for long, certainly will not appear on your credit file, and I would just ignore it to be honest.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. There is no indication of when the debts from?
No idea who Red hot is!
The only contact is a telephone number 01482 484612 and a Hull PO Box address where you can pay, it says to telephone if you have a query?0 -

I would ring them and find out where the debt is from and why they think you owe it. You may actually owe this money.
I think to just leave it and to just ignore it is a bad idea. It may only be £10.98, but some companies will still take further action for such a small amount.
Do you really want your credit record affecting for the sake of £10.98?
Ring them tomorrow. Get this sorted. Debts do NOT go away.(•_•)
