Help - holiday needed

I am looking for a holiday for myself and husband - we haven't been away (abroad) since before children about 7 years ago.

we want to go somewhere in europe, with a budget of about £500 per person, relaxing, good food etc, but have no idea where!!! We plan to go mid september and would prefer not to go self catering and are open to all suggestions.

So what recommendations do you have?

Thanks - I have done that, but just looking for some recommendations that people have experienced more recently than 6 or 7 years ago!

try ithaca greece- you fly to kephalonia and the ferry accross. perfect.
