50:50 car insurance split

Hi
Having been involved in a car accident recently both insurance companies have come to the decision to have it declared as 50:50, which I have no issue with. I have no contact details for the other party involved but is it allowed to contact their insurance company proposing to take the claim offline and pay 50% of the damages?

You paying the 50% direct is not necessary.
Assuming you don't want to claim your costs and this is a way to have your ncd reinstated, then just contact your own insurer and reimburse them.
You will still have a (no fault) claim on your record to disclose to future insurers0 -
Are you aware that 50/50 means you and your Insurers are entitled to claim 50% of your and your Insurers losses?
This means you can claim back 50% of your excess etc0 -
Hi thanks for the replies. My insurance company told me that I can reimburse them with 50% and have my NCD reinstated however I would still need to declare this as a fault claim for future insurance, is this not true?0

A fault claim is one where the insurer has paid out and not been reimbursed and ncd affected.
Ask them to elaborate on their decision and take it from there0
