Barclaycard transaction charges

Hi,
I recently paid for holiday accommodation in full via expedia website. However, when I arrived at holiday accommodation, my Barclaycard details were requested, which I assumed were just in case I racked up any charges like phone calls, room service, etc.
I discovered the accommodation had charged my credit card in full again, which was $2,600 Aus Dollars which converts to around £1300. I notified them of their error and they promised to refund my credit card.
Since then, there has been 3 further transactions relating to this. A second charge of $2600 Aus Dollars followed by two credit refunds of $2600 each to resolve the errors.
Problem is, my credit card was charged in Aus Dollars, and once all 4 transactions had completed (2 charges, 2 refunds) I've ended up with a credit card balance where I am £154.06 worse off due to all the transaction charges associated with exchange rates which were applied each time!
What are my consumer rights here?
Should the holiday accommodation pay up and settle the difference or do I take the matter up with Barclaycard? Does Section 75 cover my losses in this instance?
Advice would be much appreciated.

I can't see section 75 being relevant here unfortunately, since you paid Expedia and they (presumably) did what they were paid to do as a middle man, i.e. make a booking and pay the hotel on your behalf.Should the holiday accommodation pay up and settle the difference or do I take the matter up with Barclaycard? I think your claim is against the hotel, who shouldn't have charged you the value of the booking at all and certainly shouldn't have done so twice, and so it's their erroneous actions that have caused your loss. Did you have and present clear evidence of the fact that the booking was prepaid at the time of checking in?
Or you could try arguing with Barclaycard that the full-value transactions were unauthorised but the fact that the hotel reversed these (albeit in the same currency they were made) could hamper a chargeback attempt....0 -
Can't add anything about the card charges but I've heard this sort of tale many times with Expedia bookings. I've even mentioned it to an Expedia employee I used to know who blamed it on customers misunderstanding their web site.0

Phoned Barclaycard up yesterday to inform them about the issues I had above and they refunded me the £154.06 immediately.0

More importantly, what have Barclaycard said about the fraud?
and what did the hotel say when you complained you still hadn't been refunded.
Your issue is with the hotel, not Barclaycard or Expedia.0
