Apologies for dumb question from techy numpty.:(
I'm trying to delete my late husband's Facebook account and I'm being asked for his password. Our laptops store this so I've no way of finding out what it is. Is there a (very) simple way that I can get one of them to forget it so I can request a new one and so delete his account?
Many thanks.

If you use firefox as a browser you can see the stored passwords.
Click on the three bars in the top right corner-options-security-saved passwords-show passwords.
Other browsers may be similar. .0 -
It's your browser that's saved the passwords. For instructions on how to delete a password, try the appropriate google search...

Thank you all for your help.
I'm going to hold the "Cancel deceased account" option in reserve as it means uploading documentation which is, I'm afraid, beyond me.
I did fine with eddddy's links (Chrome) except, when I got to the password list, the Facebook one isn't there! I don't really see how that's possible but any ideas from this point would be gratefully received.0 -
If you have access to the email account linked to the FB account, you could try & reset the password to gain access. Just click on the Forgotton your Password link, choose the 'Email me a link' option, and follow the instructions
You may also be able to reset the password using his Google account, but I have not tried, so do not know the procedure for it.0 -
Could the Facebook password be stored in a different browser? Firefox for example? Also, if you're using a Mac, all passwords are stored in the "Keychain" regardless of browser used.0

Thank you all for your help and advice, from which I've learned a lot. I finally managed to do it last night on my Kindle Fire but wouldn't have managed it without this information.
Thanks again.0 -
I wish we could just "Delete Facebook".
I'm sorry for your loss, but glad you got it sorted in the end.0
