Best "scrap my car" quotes that do free pick up?

Hi there, my car failed it's MOT miserably today. The cost of it all would be a lot more than I actually paid for the car, so I've decided to scrap it. I've been looking at a few "scrap my car" sites. Ones that take your car away for free. One quote was £20, another was £27, another was £50. Do any of you know of a "scrap my car" company that gives better quotes than most? Thanks

Scrap metal prices are way down so thats about all your going to get.

At one point a larger estate would fetch £200 easily, now your lucky to get £50 for it.

Stick it on ebay starting at £30, someone will buy it especially if you have a failure sheet.

Not too many moons ago I scrapped a Micra for £200, the scrap yard had another one in the same colour with different panels damaged, I said you could make a good one here, he looked for 2 seconds and said it wasn't worth it!!,a few years before I seem to remember scrap yards charging to scrap cars!!

As forgotmyname has said, try to sell it with fail sheet etc, whilst it may cost you too much to repair if you are paying labour charges, somebody who can do the work themselves may want it, I'd also try Gumtree and local Facebook pages, both free.

Scrap metal prices have fallen to about £50 a tonne over the last few months. Take what you can!

I took a load of different metals into the scrap man last week. Steel was only £25 a tonne. So if someone is offering you £50, then take it. Or put it on ebay as others have said and get more for a salvageable motor.
