WiFi connected, can't access Google

Had great answers to previous confused thread. Thanks.
Another puzzle for me............I definitely have WiFi connected & signal strength is 3 'bars', yet I cannot access the internet.
Google just says "something went wrong, check your connection & try again". Been like that for 7 hours!
Might I have done something I shouldn't & knackered access to Google?

Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.

The internet is very very big .
Try another site apart from Google .0 -
I clicked on the 'globe' icon instead of the Google app thing, & keyed in Yahoo but I keep getting a message "your connection is not private", can't get past it.
Even thought I'd try the Opera Mini suggestion from your post but no joy.

What wifi is it connected to, home, work, public?
If home, my first step would be try rebooting the router.0 -
At home & will try that later. Can't actually access the internet at all on the phone though still saying I'm connected with a decent signal.
One app I'd installed & had not probs with now can't open - just a load of gobblygook appears. Though yahoo email a/c opens without problems.Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.0 -

Thank you everyone. I've put the device down the toilet & flushed it..............:T
This is what I get for mucking about with settings. I somehow managed to block 'cookies' - seemed like a good idea when I stumbled on it, pity I couldn't recall where that was (& only vaguely recalled doing it).
When I finally managed internet access through BTHub (that 'BT-FON' think kept butting in & swapping places - sorry, not technical speak), I gave Facebook a go & was denied access because cookies were not enabled.
Finally managed to put the cookie thing back on & all problems seem to have disappeared (I gave the phone a sort of Basil Faulty bashing with a pencil for good measure, maybe that did the trick).
BT-FON has stopped butting in, I've been able to install Yahoo browser (right word, yes?).
Thank you for your patience, 'trying' I know. I'll stop fiddling with things & leave you all in peace.Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.0
