Sam - I think I do have a lot of US already and the balance is offset to quite an extent by my cash and pension holding - I think ?
The US is over half of the global market. The US in the past has outperformed most other developed markets, and I am a fan. It's just a thought though and not too important - I think what you are doing looks fine.0 -
I'm not a fan of mixing and matching multi-asset. A little dabble in an area outside of the multi-asset fund does no harm. However, if you buy single sector funds with overlap with the multi-asset then you are bringing in management decisions. If you are prepared to do that then you may as well buy the single sector funds for the lot as save yourself money compared to the higher charged multi-asset fund.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Why BP as a holding would be my question.
1% of the portfolio is to small a holding to be worthwhile as well. Minimum of 3% in any one holding would be required to have impact on the overall portfolio.0 -

It might've been that BP was 3%, but gradually as its price has fallen it is now only 1.1%... :undecided"If you aren’t willing to own a stock for ten years, don’t even think about owning it for ten minutes” Warren Buffett

The BP holding, and the other individual shares, are just for fun, it is only a few £100s - I am looking for a miracle with the Biotech, and a tiny dividend with the BP and HL
