Was It Worth Switching?

So I just received an e-mail from MSE stating that my utilities switch is now complete.
Now I am asking myself, was it worth doing?
Immediately following the e-mail, I came back to the MSE site to find that I can save money on what I am currently paying with British Gas.
Who was I with before switching?
British Gas.
Switching is supposed to be easy and quick.
My switch took nearly 7 weeks!
I also had to chase both my old and my new provider to sort various problems out.
I was chasing British Gas for a refund of credit for over a month.
My new supplier did not only NOT keep me informed, the information in the 'my account' section of their website gave me entirely incorrect information and this is still not sorted.
I gave the new supplier my meter readings as asked and they said they had to send them off to be verified, this is why the switch took so long.
How were they verified? I have no idea as no one came to read the meters. I have no idea how else the readings could be verified.
The best bit was that British Gas took my payments in arrears and OVO (my new supplier) takes its payments in advance, which meant that for October, I ended up with two bills for the same month!
Now I am in a position where switching has taken nearly two months.
I have encountered a multitude of problems along the way which are still not 100% solved.
I ended up paying two utility bills for one month.
And now I find I could have saved more money by just staying where I was.
Was it worth it?
I don't think so.

No problems whatsoever changing.
Old payments with Npower would have been £69.
Now with E.On £55, Combined Fuels. There are more questions than answers :shhh: :silenced:WARNING ! May go silent for unfriendly repliesPlease excuse me Spell it MOST times:A UK Resident :A0 -
My last switch to Ovo took about 3 weeks from date of signup and absolutely no problems at all .
Was it worth it at that time and a fixed contract yes saved about £20 a month .0
