Apologies if this is a well thrashed out topic...
Recently someone has driven into the back of my car, been to the approved repair place as recommended by the insurer and finally been told it is beyond economic repair.
I'm still driving it and it seems to be working OK. The repair people didn't seem particularly interested, I asked the estimator if it was OK to be driving it and was told "I should think so" and carried on taking his photos.
I also have an outstanding loan on this car that is about half way through.
I have the settlement figure from the loan company and presumably I now need to wait for the offer from my insurance company and go from there.
Does anybody have any advice as to what to do next and what my options are?
All advice greatly appreciated:)

Basically the car according to the insurers is beyond economical repair. Also insurers tend to write off older cars it so appears. What you can do is speak to the insurer/loan company to buy the car/salvage of them and then get it repaired privately if you want. You will have to get it checked again to make sure it is still roadworthy, but cannot recall what the exact process is called. It is worth asking under what category they are writing the car off. Cat A and B cannot be on the road again, which your car definitely is not in.0
