Hi all
Can anyone recommend a company or estimate a cost to install a complete central heating system (there is gas into the property) have not yet purchased the house so cant get any quotes based on them coming round and no one on-line seems to do a rough quote, its a 3 bed house, will need approx 9 radiators, piping and boiler the lot.
Thanks

People can guess at this all they like and even work on costs they have incurred but I'd say that it will not be a true reflection on the correct costs you will be billed as they need to look at many things from stripping out the old system and working out the new layouts plus materials and labour.
What you are asking is how long is a piece of string here, Guess it yes but you will not be anywhere near the true figures.
My guess around £7000.00 plus for a half decent system.0 -

Thanks for this, that probably explains why they do the quotes at the property rather than over the internet.
I was hoping people may have had it done recently (as the posts on here seem to be from 2008/9) and I could average out the costs but it probably wont work like that.:beer:0 -
It could differ from one property to another by anything from a £100.00 or even a £1000.00 upwards and they cannot give you a figure without inspecting the property and even then my suggestion is to look at 3-4 quotes on a complete overhaul to ascertain the best deal.
Make sure you look at registered Companies and with recommendations added to so that you can even speak with.0 -
Stick a drawing up of the floor plan with gas metre boiler/cylinder position and radiators. Will help out a lot.0

For a rough idea of costs, I have just paid £4,600 for the below:
· De-commission and dis-connect back boiler, remove tanks in loft and cylinder
· Install new Worcester 34 CDI gas combi
· Install new flue system
· Install mini expansion vessel
· Put condense pipe into waste
· Install new wireless controls
· Install new Worcester magnetic filter
· Redo complete gas run through house to boiler and a cooker point
· Install central heating system throughout house
· Supply and install 9 new radiators and thermostatic valves
· Do all pipework for putting hot and cold pipes under floor
· Supply all pipe and fittings for complete job
· Hot and cold flush out with chemicals
· Add sentinel x100 inhibitor
· Test and commission new system
· Remove all rubbish
· Supply electrician for wiring works needed
· Supply Worcester and gas safe certificate
· Comes with 10 year guarantee

You don't say what size of boiler, whether a meter is already installed, whether you want a combi or conventional boiler, what sort of control system...no one can give more than a wild guess without a site inspection.
The main gas supply pipe may need uprating depending on the boiler specification. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Any heating system in fact much building works without seeing building you’d need Client preference as to system itself combi or system boiler the installation type under floor (number of zones) or traditional radiator. (type, make style of radiator), Number of baths/showers required, Pipe work preference cooper, plastic, surface or hidden, Building construction walls, floors, windows size number and construction ie single /double , Distances of runs , Sizes of room, Type of building terraced, bungalow flat, Timescale
Building Insulated or not, Location ie Scotland Cornwall amongst other things? So client needs the knowledge or all this information and more to give engineer? Without it engineer will likely use calculation of ” I cant be arsed busy time of the year coming I’ll say 10k ? ”
Materials client can find out themselves online for rough price? Labour on the other hand needs much more knowledge and detailed information to be accurate ?0 -

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0
