Good morning everyone :hello:

Thinking of you Hester and DH, I don't cry at funerals either due to past issues.

Hope Mr TA is feeling ok after his treatment, sending you both a hug.

Well, it was a very windy night and I was relieved to see the trampoline in the garden was still there this morning. I had horrible visions of it smashing into next doors green house. The weather seems to have calmed down a bit now thank goodness.

I am struggling quite a bit due to my bipolar friend. She is flying high at the moment and it has been a barrage of visits, texts and phone calls and crazy schemes from her and I am sick of it to be honest. Her next plan is to leave her husband and come and live near me. I think I will be moving if that happens. I love her dearly but I am not very well myself at the moment and I am not coping with her very well. A lot of the stuff she is talking about is bringing up issues from my childhood that I want to forget so it is hard.

Well, I have shopping arriving soon including an enormous bag of dog food much to Max's relief :D, so I will love you and leave you. Hope you all have a good day whatever you are up to, take care xx
• Hester ,How well both you and your OH fought for his Mum, and thank goodness you were there to hold both their hands at such a sad time.Be strong now honey, the coming weeks will be very busy and no doubt flak will be aimed at everyone by the awful BIL but stay strong honey.
You made sure that your MIL had a peaceful and comfortable end of her life. Be supportive of your OH as you have been, he needs lots of reassurance and basic cuddles, and so do you.

She is at peace now, and not in pain and BIL cannot hurt anyone anymore. He must be a very sad, bitter man to cause so much extra grief for everyone. I almost feel sorry for him ,for anyone who feels that unloved at this time must be dreadful.
Luckily your OH has you, and you have him and that's what will get you through the coming weeks .
My condolences to you and your family at this very sad time
Much love

• Good Morning everyone, grey here again and breezy but still dry. I'm going into town on the bus this morning for a top up of groceries and then to the local centre on the bus home for the nice greengrocer and He Who Knows will come and pick me up in the car so I don't have to stagger too far with very heavy bags. It's something I find as I get older that carrying really heavy things is much less readily accomplished than it was 10 years ago! I'm finding it difficult to sleep at the moment as it's so warm overnight I throw off the quilt, pull it back on drift and then overheat etc. all through the night. I'll be glad of cooler weather when it does come, we're not even lighting the woodstove at the moment because it's still too warm in the lounge in the evenings despite it being half past November and in the UK!

HESTER times are difficult after losing a parent and your DH will need time to become accustomed to the fact that MIL is no longer with him especially after the fight you've had to get her comfortable and the attitude of his siblings. It's a time to stand together love, support each other and just allow yourselves that initial flow of grief and help yourselves get used to the changes in life. Family wrangles and fall outs cut deep but you have each other to cleave to and your strength, which you showed over MIL will be used for yourselves and you will prevail. God bless you all and give you some much needed peace, Lyn xxx.

Hi everyone,

I'm so sorry for your loss Hester, I hope the arrangements can be sorted out without too much bother, although That's probably wishful thinking.

Dumpling, please don't feel bad about shutting out your friend at the moment, you need to look out for yourself and your own family first.

I hope Mr TA is ok after his treatment.

I'm off to London today, hopefully to see the Liberty exhibition at the Fashion and Textile museum. I bought some beautiful liberty fabrics from a factory shop last time we were in Yorkshire that I'm currently using t make a quilt. I've finally got to grips with the buses in London, thanks mainly to the better destination signs, I was always very anxious about missing my stops etc but it's so much easier now. The same with the street maps all over, I've stopped taking my A-Z with me most of the time now.

Have a good day.

Hester So sorry for your loss, thinking of you and OH xx

I'm getting nowhere with the garden, the weather can't make it mind up. Just when I decide to get out there, the rain starts again. On the plus side, the house is very clean and tidy :D

We're only getting 1-3 eggs per day from the girls now so I won't be selling any for a while, that's the perfect amount for just us.

There's not much to do today, I'll just be pottering about. I made a start on next year's calendar a while ago, thought I'd finished it but I haven't, lol. I'll get that done today and print it off.

Morning all.

Maybe I didn't explain myself very well. When I say weak and vulnerable I meant physically. I'm no match to an almost 6ft man who is aggressive when off his face. He's never touched me physically before but there's always a first time.

Side gate was locked last night but I guess he won't be back again for another 6 months. I tried sleeping with the hall light off last night. That was an experience I won't be repeating. Oh and a dog needed a wee at 3am. That didn't go down well.

Hubby is mithering me about the car he's put a deposit on without seeing. The latest is there are no cup holders....oh just go away!

Need to face the GP's surgery this morning as I need to chase a prescription. It will be the first time I've been back since I made a formal complaint about one of its staff.

I also plan to go and see Mom.

Thinking of you Mr and Mrs Hester and also Mr and Mrs TA.

Onwards and forwards,

Have a great day all.

• Morning, ((((((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.

Hester, I cannot say anything better than Jackie O and Mrs LW. You fought your corner to get your MIL the care she needed as she passed away. So her end was peaceful, be very proud of that. My thoughts will be with you in the coming days and weeks. Look after yourself, and your husband.

The wind has dropped and it has stopped raining for now. I expect there will be floods in the usual places in Leicestershire, glad we do not have to go out.

Load of logs coming today, just a few bits left from the load we had delivered by the coal man. I have changed suppliers, there was quite a lot of pine in the lot we got from the coal man, not good for the chimney. I have no desire to have a chimney fire thank you. Both log basket and coak hod need filling this morning.

Lousy nights sleep, I was still awake at 4am, woke just before 8, but only got out just before 8.30. Good job there is nothing planned for today, I think it would have been on the cancelled list.
• Good morning OSers,

Sending you hugs Hester :grouphug:So sorry for your loss.
Quite a cold one here, i really had to wrap up,gloves and scarf have come out of hiding!
Had a rubbish nights sleep and feeling dopey today, luckily i'm only working until just after lunch so i can get home and pop my feet up for a bit.
Dinner will be salmon with new potatoes, spinach, peas and parsley sauce- which i'm really looking forward to :p

Will try and order some more christmas presents this evening, can't believe i am nearly finished...Skint but nearly finished! Will start getting a few food/drink bits in now too i think, don't want to be rushing at the last minute.

Right, on with some work i think.
Have good days all x

I got the laundry out on the line at last, had breakfast and have a huge pot of chicken and vegetable soup on the hob.

DD's parcel which I missed yesterday will be redelivered around one so I will need to stay in till then. Might finally get around to starting to shorten and hem dd's curtains for her while I wait.

I have managed to get a viewing on the chalet bungalow on Thursday afternoon and a friend will pick me up and help me look round. If I do like it then will have to see how sellers are fixed for a selling date and might need to rent someone although hope I don't have to.

It was so windy last night that our up and over garage door flew open and I had to wrestle with it this morning.

Hester

Thank heavens DH has you and you have each other. I would like to think the horrendous BIL will shut up now and stop causing even more grief but somehow I doubt it.

MrsTA

I hope things are going well with DH's treatment and you will soon be home.

Hugs to all
